The last paragraph of the usurers manual points out the DC
drive motor reset button for the DC circuit breaker. If you tighten the conveyor belt too tight with the left and
right adjusting screws that DC breaker will trip. You must loosen the two adjusting screws ½ turn or more and push
the white reset button just above the speed control knob.
Did the DC drive give you a fault code? It may have tripped on a current over load. Needs to be set to handle load.

My problem was the overload reset. After working with it a little i got it to reset and the unit has worked well since.
I have a 31-255X type 2. Go tohttp://www.toolpartsdirect.com/delta-too... to order new parts for your machine. Delta has some errors in their parts lists for these drum sanders. I thought my motor was bad and ordered a new one since it was 3 years old. The old motor is good since the new one didn't work either. I traced it down to the rheostat, ref # 150 on your parts list. The toolsdirect website didn't list part 150 on all model parts lists. What I need is part no 911609 DC SPEED CONTROLLER. Yours may be bad too. It costs about $50.
Write back on this board to clarify the problem. Does the motor hum or is it warm? If you loosen the left and right belt tightening screws will the drive pulley on the front of the table turn?
The DC drive motor (1/50 HP) quit after 3 years of use. The main 115v AC motor is fine. I ordered a new DC drive motor and when I plugged it into the cable socket, I got no power. I looks like the circuit board is at fault. I checked it and there are no loose connections. This machine works fine and I have used mine every other day for 3 years. How did you resolve your problem?
did you hit the reset button?
where is the reset button??
