I am trying to use Custom home Designer Edition and I keep getting it open and then right before I can use it I get an error message saying the program has encountered problems and needs to close. I've already deleted the file MSVCRT.DLL because I was getting a different error message. Can my program be fixed so that it won't get an error message?
Your best option at this time is to perform a complete uninstall-reinstall of the program.
For this, you must have the program installer disk/s and registration (if needed). ** You must have the above stated before proceeding **
From how your described the problem, you are using a version of Windows. You can find the program in your Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs. Select the program name and click on Uninstall. This is normally an automatic process, and may prompt you to restart the system once completed.
Restart your system and once it is stable, reinstall the application from the program disk using Install.exe (or Setup.exe), or some form of name indicating to setup the program on your system.
This normally takes care of your problem on missing files that the program is looking for, that causes the halt.
If the error still persists, you should contact your Software vendor or the company that provided the program.

I have had this installed on my XP for more than a year with few problems--none that affected the way it ran. Suddenly one day when I tried to "Start with a Blank Design", I got the message "Sierra Home Architect (tm) has encountered a problem and needs to close." The option "Open Most Recent Design" sometimes does nothing. HOWEVER, I can open any of the Designer Rooms and change that any way I want to, and I can open any of my saved designs through the File menu inside the program. I can live with this but it would be nice if it worked like it used to! I have uninstalled and re-installed, restarted, and defragged my computer several times since this started happening. Could it be that one of the Windows updates has affected the program?

I read to delete the file msvcrt.dll to fix my problem of not being able to even open sierra home architect but now once I get it open it's saying the program has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I go to view the errors it says it's another SHA problem.

Sierra Home Architect will not let me save any of my work. It will ask if I want to save when I close down the program and if I say yes, the program does nothing. Also, even when I try to save manually by pressing the "save" button, nothing happens. What do I do?
