LG AC compressor problem

I have an LG AC and it seems that the compressor starts to kick on but the boggs down and goes off.... it is only 1 year old. I unplugged it so it may reset itself but still does the same thing. Worked great last year.

Sounds like the unit is "stuck" in Dry Mode. I have the same problem - unit used to work great, but now the compressor only runs for one minute at a time. Mine is only 2 months old (LG 8008R).

Compressor may be locking up. Run capacitor may be weak or loose wire. Sounds like major voltage drop off as unit head pressure increases.

Car boggs down when condenser fan runs

Hi Roger, I believe that you have more than one possible problem. The first is if the belt is not tight enough it will squeak. If the vacuum tubing to the relays controlling the up idle are broken or leaking the up idle will not work and as the drag caused when engaging the AC is substantial the engine revs will drop or can cause the engine to stall. If there is a problem with the AC compressor, it can also cause the symptoms you're reporting. The sound of the fan operating will increase with the volume of air circulated, which is normal, but I'm not sure what sound you're referring to? Regards John

My coleman 13,500 roof a/c year 2000 does not blow as cold as used to. I have cleaned the top condenser coils, with no help. It also at times will seem to pull a heavy load when I assume the compressor...

if the compressor started and stoped means
1 thermostat need settings
2 compressor over heated due to low suction pressure need to check and repair the leak then charge the freon

Compressor kicks on for about a min then shuts down overload trips out

The Main reasons that this will happen
1 - A bad run capacitor (silver or metal capacitor)
It’s either shorted, grounded or open.
If it’s shorted a lot of times it will bulge out, (sometimes slightly)
2 - A bad start kit ( plastic capacitor and Relay connected to it )
The capacitor is either shorted or open
The relay either has an open coil between terminals #1 and #5
Or the relay is stuck.
Any time you change the capacitor or relay you should change
the other, especially if they are over a year old.
3 - A loose, burnt or disconnected wire
4 - Wired wrong
5 Compressor is open (windings burnt open)
6 Low on charge not getting enough cooling back to compressor, (Feel top of compressor to see if it’s hot it shouldn‘t be)
7 Some compressors have a black plastic overload under the compressor cap which could be bad.

Compressor starts then shuts down like head pressure building to high

Make sure that your condenser fan is working. If your unit is water cooled make sure you have water flow.
