Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX10 Digital Camera
It has a short. have it repaired or toss it. Usually stems from the selector switch, if you can pull the wheel or lever off and clean under neath, A can of compressed air like you clean your keyboard with is what I always use. Sorry, think its smoked.

SOURCE: Access black screen problem
1.turn on the unit and switch it to play mode( by pressing the button next to th viewfinder.
2. press the menu button
3. select setup (the option with the toolbox icon)
4. inside setup look and select for setup 1(toolbox icon with a number 1 at the bottom)
5. then select initialize and select OK to every ptompt,
6. then it will pop up clock settings.
if this will not work then it would be better to hav the unit checkd and repaired by an authorized servicer. sony 1800-222-7669

SOURCE: The lens keep going in and out
mine camera did the same thing. i gave it to my techno neighbor guy and hours later he gave me my camera back and it was FULLY functional! he "hit it several times" thus jarring the lens back into place! (i could have gone w/o hearing that but, hey! it works!

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.
