Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Nuvi 350 System Software Missing

Try this: Hold the power buuton down, you will see on the lower screen the word "Pre Booting - ". Keep holding the power button for about 60 second, then you will see on the lower screen "Booting".
This time, release power button; system will reboot and loading map... again.
I got the same problem, after research on the web. Nick 99990_0 had post this solution on (his Nuvi 660) but it work for my Nuvi 350 too. Good luck.

SOURCE: Nuvi 350 System Software Missing

If you have a nuvi 350 download the software to your computer and then load the software onto a formatted sd card. Insert the sd card and bootup the Nuvi 350. The sofware will then load onto the Nuvi 350. If you have a Nuvi 200 I would think it works the same but I have not tried it.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Problem connecting Garmin nuvi 205 w to pc

Check your cable.

I had to switch to device to pc cable from the garmin original cable to a pc cable that works with my motorola razor. The funny thing is I originally tried the motorola cable and it wouldn't work, brought the garmin cable and now it doesn't work but the motorola cable does.

Now my pc finds the device and I can go on to the garmin site and update.

SOURCE: No connection to PC

I had the same problem. The solution was so simple but I tried everything I could imagine before this: Remove cable from pc and garmin. Now.. the secret...FIRST switch on your garmin and then connect it to the cable and to the usb port of yor pc! That was is for me! So simple really but in every manual I read it said just connect it, it didnt say first switch it on!!

SOURCE: My new Garmin 255W is not recognized by the PC

Try a different cable.

Believe it or not, this really could be the issue. I tried a camera cable that worked fine with the camera, and a cable that came with a disk drive, then finally a cheapo cable that I'd picked up at the dollar store. That one did the trick! Go figure.

Pc does not recognize colorado 400t via usb port

Try updating your device software : http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00622-45 Also, update your Webupdater software as well. And if neither works you may want to try a separate USB port as well. Hope this helps!

How do i reset my garmin colorado 300

First you'll also need to download file below. Once you've downloaded this file unzip it into a directory such as C:\Garmin on your PC.

On your PC click the Start menu, select "Run..." and type "cmd" where it says open. A black window with a DOS command prompt should appear. At the command prompt enter the following command:

> cd c:\Garmin
At the next command prompt type the following command without hitting enter:

> Updater.exe 066101000230.rgn
Now back to your GPS.

Press and hold the "up button" on the Rock'n Roller while you plug the CO into the USB cable. Wait 10-20 seconds while still holding the "up button". You should see a Garmin banner and nothing else. At this point you can hit enter on your PC to execute the updater command. Once the updater runs you will need to select you Colorado under USB and hit enter. This should perform the update (you may get a warning about loading an older version of software). You should receive a message that the update was successful and the Colorado will reboot.

Once the reboot is complete the "Loader" banner should appear near the top of the CO screen after about 30 seconds. Release the "up button" and on your PC you should be able to see the Colorado as a USB drive.

You can now attempt to fix the files on your Colorado which are preventing it from starting. If you've recently added or changed files these are good places to start. Deleting gpx files and/or replacing map img files with your backup copies may resolve the issue as well.

What do I use to hook my gps to the pc, to update it

You will need a USB cable to make this connection.
Any USB generic charger will work. I used on my Garmin the Motorola cellphone USB cable.
The procedure is like this:
Connect, start Garmin Nuvi and disconnect; then reinsert the USB plug when your Nuvi model number is displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can even charge your Garmin this way. To reduce the charging time follow these steps:
# change the display brightness to less than 25%
# turn off the Garmin device.

Problem with our Garmin you can turn it on and it will not do anything but display Garmin name and will not turn off. Have changed batteries, any ideas???

It sounds like your Garmin has a corrupt file or file system. This is common when using bird's eye imagery with unsuspected shut-downs.
Try doing a soft reset of the Garmin:Warning: This procedure will delete information (waypoints, routes, tracks, etc) from your GPS and settings may be set back to factory defaults.

1. Power the unit OFF
2. Hold down the two Soft Keys for 2 seconds
3. While continuing to hold the 2 Soft Keys down, press and hold down the Power button for an additional 5 seconds
4. Release all buttons, and select YES to the prompt asking "if you want to clear all user data?"

This form of reset does not seem to reset all of the settings to factory defaults, just a few of the basics like Time Zone and Language, the remainder of the settings are still taken from your existing profile files.

Once you have completed a reset remember to place the Colorado outside in a stationary position for 20 minutes in plain view of the sky so that it can rebuild the almanac before using it again.

Note: Holding down both soft keys and the select button in a similar fashion seems to do a similar reset to the Colorado. This may be a master reset.

If the problem still persists, try this as a last ditch effort.
Warning: This procedure may delete information (waypoints, routes, tracks, etc) from your GPS and settings may be set back to factory defaults.

If you can't get your CO to start properly and it will not go into USB storage mode when connected to your computer you can try this as a last ditch recovery. It worked on a 400t that would freeze when loading maps and soft/hard resets didn't not work, I've also used it to recover a Colorado which refused to boot because of a bad gpx file.

First you'll also need to download file below. Once you've downloaded this file unzip it into a directory such as C:Garmin on your PC.

On your PC click the Start menu, select "Run..." and type "cmd" where it says open. A black window with a DOS command prompt should appear. At the command prompt enter the following command:

.text { font-family: monospace; }.text .imp { font-weight: bold; color: red; }.text span.xtra { display: block; } > cd c:Garmin
At the next command prompt type the following command without hitting enter:

.text { font-family: monospace; }.text .imp { font-weight: bold; color: red; }.text span.xtra { display: block; } > Updater.exe 066101000230.rgn
Now back to your GPS.

Windows vista pc does not recognise my canon 350d?

Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and see if any of the USB connections has an exclamation mark next to it. If so, select it and delete it. Close the dialog box. Now plug in your USB again and see if it automatically recognises the device (camera). Of course, you have to turn on the camera after connecting the USB (I've met people who have been stumped for days before realising that the camera has to be switched on in the first place)

Turn on your garmin out of the car, connect to a PC via USB cable and see if the battery indicator goes away. If it does then the USB to PC cable is working and charging the unit. To test the car adapter, you can unscrew the tip of the plug to examine the fuse. Most Garmin car charger units have a light on them that ilimunates when you plug it in and turn the ignition. It could be that the plug is just loose in the socket. The picture shows the unit running on battery. If you plug in the usb cable and this indicator goes away, then it should be charging.
