SOURCE: Washer won't spin, but making funny noise and water drains
You have a broke motor coupling broken between the motor and transmission the part is not expencive but a little hard to explain how to put it in.
SOURCE: washer won't agitate after filling, grinding noise
this could be the coupling for the motor/transmission.
follows are instructions for removing the cabinet:
Now on the front of the base, you will see the pump. This is held on with two clips, Pop these off and pull the pump straight off the motor. The motor has two clips on it as well, (remove any screws if they are there, some have them, some don't) and pull the clips away. The motor will want to fall. Keep a firm steady hand under it to prevent damage to floor or motor.
Now you have access to most of the parts.
Look on the back of the motor and see if you see a little rubber disk with 6 holes. There is a three pronged connection on the motor as well as the transmission. If this coupler is not broken, you may have a bad transmission. To check for a bad transmission, take something that you can place over one of the prongs on the connection, and spin that first clockwise and note what the agitator does. Now spin it counterclockwise and see if the basket inside the tub starts to spin. If nothing happens either way, you probably have a bad transmission. If you get action from the transmission, then you just need the coupler, which you can get one at a local appliance parts store. Replace the broken parts and replace motor/pump assy.
Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: The spinning thing won't spin
The motor has a double pole on it. The pump is driven on one side of the motor. The basket is driven on the other end of the motor. So if the water is pumped out then the lid switch is fine. What you have is a broken drive coupler. Usually breaks on a heavy load like rugs or quilts. Low water on a heavy load can break it too. Or simply old age.

SOURCE: Final spin won't go through... makes a squiky noise and no high speed spin
first how old is your machine. second is it under warranty? third have you tried to spin in all selections to see if your timer is working?
If this is just clicking then the agitator bearings stuck or something is jamming it.
