There are screws holding the top housing onto the machine. (The top housing is where the spool pin slid into). remove the screws on the top housing and pull the top housing up off of the machine. You will be able to reposition the spool pin to where it supposed to be. put the top housing back on and reinstall the screws.

My bobbin winder will not engage

1. Turn the power on the machine.
2. Open the bobbin winder cover at the top on the right side of the sewing machine.
3. Swing up the bobbin thread spool pin. Move the bobbin thread spool pin up as far as possible.

1-Bobbin thread spool pin
4. Place the bobbin on the bobbin winder shaft so that the spring on the shaft fits into the notch in the bobbin.

1-Notch
2-Bobbin winder shaft spring
5. Slide the bobbin winder shaft to the right.

NOTE: If the correct size bobbin is not used at this time; when the bobbin winder is engaged; the bobbin winder will make a usual noise and not wind the bobbin correctly.
6. Place the spool of thread for the bobbin onto the bobbin thread spool pin.
7. Slide the spool cap onto the bobbin thread spool pin.
NOTE: If using thread that winds off quickly, such as nylon or metallic thread, place the spool net over the spool before placing the spool of thread onto the spool pin.
8. Pull out some thread, and then thread the thread guide for the bobbin winding. Hold the thread with both hands, and then securely pass the thread as far as possible into the two slits in the thread guide.

1-Thread guide for bobbin winding
2-Two slits
9. While using your left hand to hold the end of the thread that wraps around the thread guide for bobbin winding, use your right hand to wind the free end of the thread clockwise around the bobbin five or six times.

10. Pull the thread to the right and pass it through the slit in the bobbin winder seat.

The spool pin on my Brother VX1010 doesn't come up so I can't put a spool of thread on it.

Difficult to say. Some machines have a spool pin that can be pushed down for storage or transport. Your machine may have this ability. Or, perhaps someone has pushed the pin down accidentally. If you can use a needlenose plier to grab the tip and pull up, the spool pin may be fixed. If there is any part of the spool pin still projecting above the machine, you can cut a length of plastic drinking straw and fit it over the spool pin to hold your thread spool. Some sewists use a standalone thread holder (available multiple sites online, etc) that sets on the table behind the sewing machine or some people will throw the thread into a jar and set it behind the machine.

Hello i have just obtained a Hasqvarna 3600 and the cotton spool pin has been pusged too far down and i can't get it out. Does anyone know how to pull it out? Please

If it has not been pushed all the way down so part of it is still projecting above the machine, you can cut a piece of plastic drinking straw and place it over the spool pin. This works very well for those extra large spools that are too tall for the spool pin. In some instances, some people simply place the thread spool in a cup or jar on the table to the right and behind the machine. Or, create a spool pin with a wooden dowel attached to a flat surface.

Otherwise, the pin may need to be replaced and repaired by a technician. But, you can get by without a spool pin on the machine.

How to take back off bernia 1090

It doesn't sound quite right to have to remove the back cover to replace the spool pin. Most metal pins just pull out or push in, although there are some that the pin has a screw thread. But my older Berninas have a smooth metal pin. Just a thought...

The upper part of the right spool pin broke off. I ordered a new pin but am unable to remove the old one to replace it. How do you remove the spool pin?

Depends on your machine brand and model. Some pins simply unscrew and others pull out. Probably best to look at the replacement pin you purchased.

For the dressmaker II, the first bobbin, I got through step 1-5 but where the does step 6 go BECUZ that's really trippin me, PLS tell me. And the instruction is not clear at all, I don't understand it

Hi Vicky, I hope this helps you:
1. Remove the slide cover plate by sliding it toward you, and lift
up the bobbin and the bobbin case from the machine.
2. Put the bobbin pin into the hole on top of the hand wheel and
place an empty bobbin on the bobbin pin (spindle).
3. Lift the large spool pin from the back of the machine and
place the spool of thread on the large spool pin.
4. Place the bobbin winder tension clip into the hole in the back
of the machine.
5. Pull the thread to the left and pass it through the bobbin
winder tension disc.
6. Insert the thread through the hole in the bobbin from the inside
out and leave about 3" of thread out. (ensure that the hole on the bobbin is facing upwards)

7. Hold the end of the thread and start the machine, either by
pressing on the start button or the foot control. After the
bobbin winds a few turns, stop the machine and cut the thread
close to the bobbin. (Cut the thread end that is protruding from the hole at the top of the bobbin).

8. Start the machine again and continue winding until the bobbin
is full or the quantity of thread is enough for your needs.
9. Stop the machine and cut the thread. Remove the bobbin from
the bobbin pin.
10.Take out the bobbin pin from the hand wheel and push back
the large spool pin into the slot in the back of the machine.

Good luck :)

HOW TO THREAD THE BOBBIN

Take the thread-end from the thread spool to the left, around the bottom of the "silver" "button"; across the top of the button and back to the right to the bobbin winder.

Run the thread-end through a hole in the side of the bobbin spool, hold onto the thread (pull through about 5" of thread) and place the bobbin spool onto the the bobbin winding pin.

You may have to turn a bit to the left or right to get the spool in place. Push the bobbin spool to the right; against the bobbin winding wheel.

Press on the power pedal - keeping hold of the thread-end.

As the bobbin fills, the thead end will twist.

When you can not longer hold on. Stop the machine and clip the thread end then continue to wind the bobbin.

How do i replace the spool pin on my singer sewing machine model # 3314?

Two ways.. either put the new spool pin in the other extra hole to the left of the trap door on top OR take out the two bigger screws on the top cover that hold it in, also take off the knobs on the front sliders (patters selection) and remove the top over. Push the old pin out from the inside with nail or something simila and replace.. simple. Do you have an extra spool pin you can share?
