My skil octo sander won't rotate with the bottom plate on. With the plate off it rotates just fine, is there a way to fix it? I've tried both tightening and losening the screws.

This happenenrd to my sander two days ago.
I searched online for answers and useful information to solve it but couldn't find any thing.
But, I have good news.
I fiddled with the sander till I just figured out what the issue is.
I've discovered that the ball bearing appears to be busted.
It's bearing #608-2RS
im gonna take it to a shop to have it pulled and I'll replace it and see if it flys.
will update later.

I have a pressure control skil octo Sander .i think i pressed down to hard now the pressure light stays on and it won't sand but Motor runs good

The transmission between the motor and the sanding belt has been damaged by the excessive pressure you applied. Check it carefully to see if something got bent and operation can be restored. If it is gear driven and you broke off some of the gears then .....................................

The micro filter system is not picking up the saw dust. Any tips?

you need to clean the duct, check if there is flow, best done outdoors and with pressure air hose...

remove filter unit, put it to pieces and blow air in reverse, this will clean the filter unit.

blow now air in reverse through the hole towards the belt, will raise heaps of dust but will clean the fan as well as the duct.

if cleaning do not help - remove cover and check the fan, it is possible that bigger particle broke wings or that they just wear off, you need then to replace the wings.

hope this will help you - we do that several times a year with our sanders.... do not forget to vote :-)

Skil Octo Sander Model 7302.

9 years old, it needs stripping, cleaning, servicing and lubricating. Depending on the amount of use, it may need new brushes in the motor. That is often a quick fix for thing running slowly, but gummed up bearings would be another.

The Parts Schematic is dramatically sparse

I have acquired a makita 9924db belt sander, but not a manual. The dust bag is wide open on the bottom - shouldn't there be some sort of device on it to keep the dust in? Also, I would like to know...

there is usually a plastic clip that slides over the bottom to seal the bag, as for the manual go to "makitausa.com" and you can download a manual from there. Let me know if you need more assistance.

My Porter Cable 4x24 VS belt sander has clogged up and I cannot get it unclogged. I've tried to disassemble it to get at the sanding dust channels but have had no luck at separating the two halves of the...

did you remove the screws that are under the handle halves, and before I completely disassemble the tool do you have a shop vacuum and if so remove the dust bag and put the hose on that outlet and run the tool and see if it pulls anything out. I would only split the halves as a last resort. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Bosch 3 x 21 Belt Sander

Remove the dust bag and unplug sander for now. Everywhere you see an access hole (fan area, dust port, back of sander blow thru the tool to remove lodged dust that clogged the system, Also look for broken belt pieces in the back of sander. Then while running (remove belt) blow again thru all the ports to try and reomve as much contamination as possible. When finished you can feel to see if air coming from dust bag port, it not you still have a clog that might need more work. If I have clarified your request would you please rate this response accordingly and thank you.

Cleaning the top of the oreck air purifier

what i normally do, is i take off the top of the and remove the filter, the metal dust catcher, and the back filter... i was the 2 filters and rub them down. then with the metal dust catcher i take a butter knife. wrap it in a clorox wipe (making sure that no metal is exposed to scratch) then i feed it through the metal dust catcher one at a time to clean it. It took me 5 wipes to clean the whole thing. when the wipe comes out black then i rotate it. As for the top of the machine. there are 2 screws that i removed to get to the fan. when they were out i used a can of air (like you would clean a computer with) and blew out the fan... it took care of all noise and it runs just like the day i got it.
