Question about Denon AVR588 Receiver

Denon AVR-2309C1 will not play sound through

We recently installed a home theatre unit with all componets feeding through our Denon AVR-2309C1 amplifier. All sound was working earlier in the day but suddenly without warning no sound will play through our main zone. We have a Zone 2 set to a Cd player and it works fine and no matter what we try (playing the working cd player through main Zone, or playing tv/dvd through) it will not play sound again. When we switch from Zone 2 to Main Zone we can hear the amplifier click as if it is switching zones. We noticed at times the amplifier will simply switch itself off. these are all brand new componets and a brand new amp. please help this is extreamly frustrating

Turn off zone 2 then turn your receiver on the main zone on Radio, tune in a station and check for audio. Post a comment and let me know if audio works that way. If you don't have any audio, list your other equipment makes and models as well as how they are interconnected to your receiver (cable type) and I will help you troubleshoot

The unit thinks there are headphone plugged in even when there are not. You need to have the headphone jack replaced. This is a common problem with this model. Another way to fix it if you don't plan on using the headphone jack is to unplug the cable going to the headphone jack board. This will disable the headphone jack, and stop it from sending an erroneous signal to the micro.

Do you have outputs for both A and B speakers? If so you can easily hook the outside speakers to the B outputs.

Is it possible to to have a home theatre with Denon AVR 3600

one option that may yield results, since the bose connection to equalizer is presently not possible is to set the speaker out put on the denon for 'small' on all but the front speakers.
and then set the delay for all speakers based on the distance to the amp.
this should result in better audio that that with the bose eq.
will work on the issue of using the eq. with the denon if you like. but, you will likely not improve on the sound with the denon set up correctly.
good luck

Losing treble at higher volume

There are two things. First check the sound settings of the DVD player. It might be putting out a lower quality sound on the CD side of things.
Secondly try to determine if the speaker tweeters are working. Connect the speakers if you can to another sound source. If the speakers are good and the settings fine. Then you have a fault in the amp unit.
