Question about Accuspray 4 Stage Turbine Sprayer W/accuspray Gravity Spray Gun

1 Answer

I am spraying shellac on cabinet doors and get a wonderful orange peel effect--any suggestions. Also does Accuspray (or anybody) provide a users guide for the various tips, nozzle, air cap combination's? The manual I have is great for parts but no help on use. Thanks, Tim

What is the best way to lay down the clear coat over my finish coat on the fender I just painted but ruined when I shot the clear coat?

Refer to the paint manufacturer's data sheet to ensure the new gun has the right setup for clearcoat.

Could be the new gun was supplied setup for spraying a high solids primer or something that needs something like a 0.7 mm fluid tip. Clearcoat would need a 0.4 mm tip, an appropriate needle and a different air cap.

Data sheets are very valuable things. Don't forget to pick one up when you buy spray paint. A viscosity cup is another useful addition to the tool kit along with a graduated paint stirring stick.

Used filler for filling nail heads rubbed back next day perfect two weeks later painted wattyl undercoat water base and filler went soft

The wood filler, a water based product, pulled the water out of the latex paint and softened. To preclude this in the future, you can cover these repairs with shellac or another sealant to provide a barrier between the filler and the paint. Spray shellac is available in hardware stores, and is used on water stained ceilings before repainting.

What do I use to refinish a pine table?

Do you want it to still have the pine look?
if so, use a clear oil or sealer/varnish/urethane.
if not, stain it whatever family/species of wood you like.
then seal it.

Garbage Disposal STOPPED WORKING

there is a tiny reset button on the very bottom of the disposal. get a flashlight and a pencil or something. look under cabinet on the very bottom of the unit will be a small reset button. push to reset. if it keeps tripping the button and shutting off. use a broom handle. not your hand, to stick down the disposal drain and jar the blades loose. after that. run full blast with water. turn on disposal. while its running, flush ice, or orange peels down the disposal to clean... the ice will scrub it all and orange peels will clean and deodorize.

My french manicure keeps cracking and peeling from my customers and i keep having to re-do them! Cracking and peeling-under 24-48 hours. I have the directions right next to me as i do the client's nails...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i think we have all being duped! I think the gelac product is rubbish!! I havent had any luck with it!!Like so many nail tecs i also have tried everything to get it to stay on but have not had any luck!! I think ibd might have rushed this product on the market to compete with shellac the dvd should have a troubleshooting section to deal with all our problems!! It has left us all down badly!!I I wonder how we would get on if we all turned up at our suppliers with out kits demanding our moneyback!!!!

ORANGE PEEL

Orange peel can be a really hard problem to diagnose. There are a number of things that can affect the spray pattern. I would start by doing some test spraying. Your air pressure is going to be a factor as well as the ration knobs on the gun. I would start by increasing the air pressure to the gun. Keep in mind that if you're regulator is at the tank the actual pressure at the gun is going to change based on the length of hose used. Generally speaking, more air pressure will disperse the fluids better, better dispersal better/smoother coverage. I'd start there and then tune on the knobs to adjust it. Keep playing with it until you get a pattern you're happy with. Then when you're done with that write down how many turns on each knob, and exact pressure, length of hose etc. This way when you clean the gun you can get it exactly the way you want it. Different products will also spray differently. You may need to adjust for each step in the painting process. I just had to go through this on my new gun and it took about an hour and a pint of clear to get it spraying well. Check out tcpglobal.com for paint and supplies. They have great prices and they also have a forum on painting. I am a user of their products and forum.

Air flow control with a Accuspray 10 series cup gun.

You shouldn't have to control air flow - just adjust fluid to provide a good spray pattern. If you feel you need to slow down application rate you can buy a garden hose shut-off valve at your local hardware store that will thread onto your air line just before the quick disconnect at the gun.
They look like this

New to spray painting and am spraying baked enamel paint

To fix this problem you need to turn up the pressure both at the wall(coming from the air compressor) and at the gun. I would suggest 10 more psi at the wall and 5 at the guns but you can play areound to find whats best for you.

Finish is rough

Spraying smooth needs both the right airflow and right viscosity. Since your getting lap lines I would say your putting it on too thick. Thin down your coat, it should be approximately the thiness of water.
