Touchpad mouse problem

I have an Acer Aspire 3050-1733. I cannot get the mouse to work. I've reloaded the drivers, I've checked device manager and there are no conflicts anywhere. I can attach an external mouse and things work fine. I've gone into the touchpad configure menu and it is enabled.

It worked one minute and then just stopped. What could I be over looking?

I had this trouble and realised that you can lock the mousepad. try unlocking it by holding the blue Fn button along with F7. Hopefully this should work

Do you run McAfee? If so did it auto-update right before it went out. Fourth one I've heard of this week all have been after the McAfee auto-update. Happened to me too on my Gateway M505

- I wouldn't think that a cable problem would act this way, but it might not hurt to check to make sure that it is seated correctly. There's not much to them, but I suppost that the pad assembly may have KO'd on you.
