The broiler is made to be used without foil over the element. The manufacturer advertised that the broiler adds flavor when liquids from your meat / vegetables vaporize as they drop onto the element. In our experience, any cleaning of the element that is necessary is easily done by a wipe-down after it has cooled with a wet dishcloth.

We sometimes use foil to line the interior of the broiler for easier clean-up, but have found no need to protect the element. If it gets as hot as ours, it will incinerate any drips that fall on it.

Putting foil between the grill rack and the element may limit the circulation of hot air, thereby lowering the heat reaching your food.

Don't know if you got a reply, but absolutely yes, you can. We used to fry bacon on it when I was a kid, and it was great!

Will the oven work without the broiler attached

You could use the oven without the broiler. It is customary that the oven will use the broil element to even out the heat in the oven for better baking but you could use if. it just may not bake evenly. There could be two things that is causing the broil element to stay energized. the control is not shutting down or there is a short to ground in the broil element. Have the broil element tested, it could just need replacing. If it is in the control that is a bigger problem.

Looking for owner manual for Farberware Millennium FSR 150 Rotisserie.

All the original Farberware "Open Hearth" Broiler, Rotisserie and Shish Kebab manuals (except the FSR 150) are available for download at http://openhearth.info . The FSR 150 is a composite of the earlier 450 455N 455ND spare parts. I have seen the manual for the FSR 150. It does not include any recipes.

Kenmore electrical oven

Trying to better define the problem....

Do you have any cuts, holes or "shorting" or tin-foil/aluminum around your bottom bake heat-element? If so, you may need to replace the baking Heat Element. (Ensure you do not use aluminum foil around your heat element to prevent your oven from getting dirty)

To replace your baking heat element, with power off; remove 2 screws securing the bake element. Slightly tug and pull towards you for about 3 inches or so and disconnect the connecting wires at each end. Then completely remove the heat element and install new in reverse manner. Whats' you're model number?

Bake element t

I'm just guessing here...

Heating elements are high resistance. If the foil fell on the element near where it inserts into its socket it could have short circuited the element. If there's a fuse in the heating element wiring it could have blown. I could not find an electrical diagram for this stove so I don't know if it has a fuse or not.

Also, depending on the wiring your thermostat or selector switch may have been damaged. Does the broiler still work?

Let us know what you find.
