The thermocouple or thermopile is your culprit. If it is not sending the correct millivolt signal to the main part of the gas valve telling it to open then, the burners will not light. This is the cheapest part to start with. If after changing this out & you have the same problem then, you have a bad gas valve.

Pilot light is lit but fryer wont fire up

Ensure that the unit receives the gas pressure required on the nameplate. Check the thermopile, it should be free of soot or any dirt, and try to tighten all wiring connections.

It does'nt kick the fire.

Check the thermostat for continuity. Check the millivolt output for the pilot generator. Check the high limit for continuity.
If all these are correct... the fryer will light. Make sure you turn the gas valve to the ON position after lighting the pilot.

Cant get the main flame on

Check the vent hole (plastic plug, not the screw) on the regulator between your gas line & the back of the fryer. If it is plugged, it wont fire & the pilot will go out when t-stat makes.

Imperial fryer IFS-40

I had a very simular problem. My fryer would do exactly as you described, but sometimes the pilot light would stay on until the burners tried to re-ignite and then it would go out.
I finally had to call the gas company. They took the pilot light apart and cleaned it. The fryer works perfect now.
Hope this helps!

Gf 40 frymaster fryer

Hi, I am suposing that this fryer has worked good in this location before. If not, check to make sure it is set up right for your gas supply. (LP-Nat) There is something wrong with the gas - air flow in your unit. Look for obvious things first like exhaust being blocked, Flame dancing out side of fire area, Pilot too small, Build up of debris in fire box. The pilot should be able to be adjusted at the gas valve if it is too small. I believe you problem could be taken care of best with a good cleaning of the burner, fire box and pilot assemble. Make sure that all burner holes are clean especially around the pilot light. Check for oily debris inside the fire box to make sure its not leaking into the fire area. If you are unable to do this yourself, contact some one either in the restaurant equipment service business or heating and air conditioning business. Hope I have helped you. kstfas NOTE: If this answer does not rate at least 4 marks, (almost there) please do not rate. Thank You.
