Is it possible for you to lower the quality of the sound?

That would help with the problem...

What program are you using for chat?

  • Geoff Jun 28, 2009

If it doesn't cause any problems don't worry about it.

If you are using window goto Control panel, sound and audio devices,
voice, performance, set the sample rate to a lower value IE good.

    and see what happens.

DELL INSPIRON 1410 idle process takes high processor usage and heats up my pc

If running Windows OS - there could be several background processes running causing this higher CPU usage.
Hitting 'CTRL/ALT/DEL' will bring up the task manager (Win98/WinXP) or a Menu which has task manager (WinVista/Win7/Win8), you can then see what background programs are running.

1. Reboot your computer. 2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your keyboard. Thiswill bring up the Windows Security window. Click the "Task Manager"button and then click the "Task Manager" tab. 3. You will see a list offiles/applications. These are the applications running in the background onyour system, whether they show on your taskbar or not. Any one of theseapplications could be causing a conflict with the Yahoo! Messengerinstallation. 4. Click the top item on the list tohighlight it. Then hold the "Shift" key down and click the last itemon the list. This should highlight the whole list. 5.Click the "End Task" button. This will temporarily close allbackground applications on your system. 6. Click the "X" in the upperright corner to close the Task Manager window. 7. Install Yahoo! Messenger. CPU = 1 processors detected. Cores per processor = 2 Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2060@60GHZ 2639 system RAM passed. 1024k Cache SRAM passed. system BIOS shadowed video BIOS shadowed

if you are referring to the detected processor in the task manager, open task manager and click the VIEW menu, then select One Graph Per Processor. Another thing to do is to go to START, then click RUN, type MSCONFIG and click OK. Once you have the MS CONFIG window up, click the BOOT tab, click ADVANCED OPIONS. From there, select/check the Number Of Processors box, then select 2. Click OK, then APPLY/OK. Restart the computer and confirm if that resolved the issue. Hope this works. Feel free to rate how useful the info is.

To open sound effected menu...
On vista, you'll have a sound icon at the bottom of the task bar.Right click this and adjust audio settings !!
On xp, can do the same thing but if you dont have the icon for the same then go to control panel - click sound and sudio devices - click advanced button and adjust audio settings accordingly.

If you need more help on this, let me know.

Magic jack creates very choppy audio

You can set the priority on the process to high by going to task manager, sometimes it can be too much ram usage by other programs for example Anti-virus or something running in the background.

To set Priority:

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to bring up task manager, select processors tab, right click magic jack processor and set priority to high.

Laptop Hangs during voice chat.

I’m going to ask you some questions in order to better determine the solution.
Do you have Yahoo IM 8.1 installed which is compatible with Vista (this will also apply to the other software like G-talk, and Skype)?
When you have your software running (Yahoo, G-Talk, Skupe, etc) how much RAM is being used? CRTL-ALT-DEL to Task Manager and Performance Tab, then under PF Usage, tell me how much MB are you using?
Do you get this ‘hang’ with other software?
How many ICONS are in the right-hand corner of the tool-bar?

Random Memory access freezing.

YESS I HAVE:
Possibilities read on this pics:

http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/07033320473115e0c6226.JPG

or :

Go to C/windows and look for a folder called Faultlog.txt. Open it and it should display all the faults that have occurred. Post a few so we can see if theres anything in particular thats causing it.
OR:
i would suggest that you reboot and get into Windows. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] and click Task Manager. On the Performance tab, it will give you a reading for the amount of processor usage (which should only be a few percent when the system is sitting idle) and another counter for the amount of memory usage (this should be 192Mb, i.e. 196608Kb, or less). Minimise Task Manager.
When your PC starts freezing or looks like it's about to (if you can tell when it's going to happen), then try and bring up the Task Manager window again from the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Has the processor usage shot up? What has happened to the memory usage? You might need to resize your screens so that you have the Task Manager running at the side whilst you continue working - that way, you'll be able to keep an eye on what's going on.
Give us some feedback about your results and we'll try and diagnose it further :)

and please if my solution was helpfull rate it as SOLVED
