Thermador CVS36R Cook'n'vent vent won't go down and fan stopped workin

You probably will find that the vent is clogged with grease. A switch device works with the vent so the fan operates only when the vent is open and does not operate when the vent is closed. Things should get back to normal after a thorough cleaning unless the fan is defective and won't operate at all.

I have a model 640 Reliance water heater. SN # A07A150454 M,F, 01/30/2007. About 3 months ago the water started getting cooler, then won't start. I turn the control up, then it starts, but the...

I believe 640 is typical tank-type atmospheric-vented gas water heater.
Gas water heater problems can get complicated. New heater sells for $350 at local box store.

If thermostat is not controlling temperature accurately, then (1) gas control needs replacement (2) water heater has sediment build-up (3) combustion and burner parts need cleaning. (4) All three things above, plus additional causes such as bad venting or not enough combustion air.

Usually recommended that plumber replace gas control valve thermostat:

Will not heat

Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

Dryer tries to start - then stops and beeps PLEASE HELP

Check the exhaust hose. If the dryer isn't venting properly it will either stop or the heater will turn off and the clothes will remain wet. If the hose is not clogged check the wall vent tube.

E 13 and beeping. Will not light

E13 means no ignition during the ignition part of the cycle. It could be no fuel in your tank, or a blocked flue pipe, or possibly a bad igniter. If you have some idea the tank is empty I would start there. If its empty have it filled. You, the home owner should be able to change the filter. If it's just out of fuel you should not have to call a repairman to look at the heater.

The heater you have is not sold by RTA INTERNATIONAL. We are the distributor for GARDENSUN patio heaters. From what you say, I would think you have a pressure problem or a bad thermocouple. Check all your fittings by spraying them with soapy water. Be sure you turn on your gas to check.

Check the tip of your thermocouple. Be sure the tip is tapered and not burned through on the tip. If it is, you need a new thermocouple.
