My burner says its not on

when i go to down load my songs it says that my burner is off what do i have to go into to turn it on i would like to have some instructions on fixing it.it is a acer aspire 9300 with vista windows basic

WizDoes the drive eject?Is it shown displayed in my computer?Check these and report back and we can proceed further..I just looks like a driver problem but anyways just check it..
