We have a Fisher and Paykel washing machine model MW509NZ. it keeps going into error with Leds 3, 5, 7 and 8 illuminated and a beeping noise. What is the problem please.

That is fault code 43
Here is the info for 43
43. (00101011) Phase 1 to 6 - OOB Switch Fault
The Motor Controller module has found that the signal returning from the out of
balance switch indicates that the switch is permanently on or the harness to it is
disconnected.
Primary Source: Mechanical.
Action:
1) Check that the out of balance switch is free to move.
2) Check that no harnesses are blocking switch movement.
3) Check that the switch operates correctly when activated. Replace the switch
if suspect.
4) If the out of balance micro switch shows signs of corrosion, replace the
switch and switch harness, and fit a condensation kit to the console area if
not incorporated in the top deck.
5) Check the level of the machine and also the bias spring.
Secondary Source: Wiring.
Action:
Check the harness to the switch is connected correctly. The terminals should be
connected to the normally closed position. If the harness terminals show signs of
corrosion, then fit a new harness.

I have a fisher and paykel washing machine model number iwm10nz and has code 43 on screen, how do i fix that?

Fault code 43 is an out of balance fault. Normally caused by a faulty out of balance microswitch. To access- remove two screws at top rear to remove control panel. You will see a large electronic board located underneath- the microswitch is located underneath this board- remove wiring and pressure tube, taking note where they went (the wiring is keyed so will only fit in right place, but best to take note anyway). Remove electronic board- held by either one screw at front, or plastic clip depending on model. The out of balance switch is now visible- small switch with two wires on it. Check switch for corrosion and operation- it should click when you press button in. Replace if faulty- available from any good parts supplier. If in any doubt, call the professionals- this is an inexpensive repair, and you don't want to make things worse if you are not confident in removal electronic board. Good luck!!

FP fault 43

Hi,

code 43 is an out of balance switch problem.Once replaced, would fix the issue.

One trick that might work ;-

I unscrewed top cover, then unscrewed and lifted up the grey computer cover. The balance switch is underneath on the right with a yellow and white wire coming off.

I removed switch from clip and then removed the wires/clips from contacts. There was definitely corrosion on the contacts. I soaked switch overnight in vinegar. Then rinsed with water. Then dried switch out for day.

Put it all back together and am now on second load of washing.

Thanks.

Error code 43 on F& P washing machine

Carefully remove control console, then control board. Take note of which connector came from which terminal! Balance sensor is located under control board. Remove with care. Check that little button (size of pen top or pencil lead) is moving in & out freely. It is spring loaded. If it sticks, replace it. Hope this helps.

Error code 43 on F& P washing machine

The micro switch or the lever that activates it seems to have been the cause of the Error Code 43. Have re-seated the switch in its holder and ensured the activating (out of balance) lever is moving freely. The switch appears to be OK and now it is all re-assembled, the Error Code 43 is gone. Machine is operating normally again.

Out of Balance Switch was located below the right hand side of the computer board (module).

Intuitive washer code 43

Thx to fixya l sovled my code 43 by removing and cleaning my balance control switch. If anyone needs to know here step by step
1 Make sure the plug is out ( dont want curly hair do you )
2 Remove 2 screws from back of control panel and lift off
3 Remove 1 screw holding grey module panel
4 Under grey module on right hand side is the balance control switch with 1 white and 1 yellow set of wires
5 remove wires ( make note on where they plug back into )
6 2 small clips hold the switch in place, open them gently and pull switch out

Its that simple , clean the contacts with some wd40 or bicarb soda in hot water to get rid of any corrosion, make sure that the little button on the side springs out freely ( tiny drop of oil/wd40 ) clean or replace plugs on the white / yellow wires. install and do that washing!!! It worked for me but if the switch is too far gone no need for a service man just get a new one and go for it .

Good luck Pieman
