Question about HP Computers & Internet
If you can connect with a hard wire connection, your problem is in the network configuration.
I would turn off the wireless and try the hardwire 1st. Their you can jump to a DOS Prompt and type IPCONFIG /?. This will give you the layout for ipconfig. If you type ipconfig /all, ipconfig /reset, or just ipconfig, you will be able to get around your settings.
Also if you are having problems with the router or modem, you should unplug it and let it sit for 15-30 seconds and plug it back. This will reset the device and make it easier to reset with software.
After all is done and your lan configuration is correct and working, unplug it and switch the wireless on. Double click on the wireless icon, bottom right and if you are in range of a network, you should be able to go from their.
One last thing, if all else fails, you can double click on the network icon, bottom right and click the support tab and then repair.
Again, doing this will work much better if only one network is active. After wards, you can switch on the other and use both if necessary.
Hope this helps, Try it. it may work !!!
