Try this method.
insert pen drive into usb
open up my computer
right click on the pen drive and format.

sometimes when you have the folder open that you want to format it wont want to do it, so by opening up my computer and only right clicking on it, you wont be accessing any of the data on there you will be just telling it to forrmat it.

that failing you might need to search for a pen drive utility that combats these issues specifically.

Windows says before use you must format When I click on format ,a massage appears says the device is write protected and can not be formatted

I am guessing you are having a problem with a SD Card or a Pen drive. SD cards have a switch on the left hand side. Toward the top of the card is unlocked. Some Pen or flash drives have switches. You will have to see if you have one. If you have a pen drive without a lock switch you may have a faulty device or it has been protected with software. In that case you can try Scandisk or chkdsk, or format from the command line. I hope this helps as I am unsure as to what device you are talking about.

File System of USB Pen Drive

You will not be unable to access your files on other computers because of the file permissions that go along with NTFS. I would recommend Fat32 if you are thinking of using those files everywhere you go, but stick with NTFS if you want the security.

Im not sure why the volume label appears in blue but im pretty sure its not virus related.
