Am getting a bad buzzing noise from my laney lc15

Bad connection? Loose fittings? I used to get a crackle from my amp when I turned the volume or balance knobs. A quick spray of WD 40 down the shaft after removing the knobs fixed it.

When setting up xr8600 is it best to start mains and monitors master at 0DB?

1. Turn the main and monitor volumes all the way down (off). Plug a cd player into channel 9/10 and play a track of music of your liking. With the main/monitor volumes still off, adjust the gain on 9/10 until the clip light turns on, then back it down until the clip light just turns off. Put the channel volume at 12 o' clock.
2. With the music still playing, turn up the mains to the desired listening level first, and then adjust the graphic eq until the music sounds good in the room. Remember or mark the position of the volume control. Do not use the channel eq on 9/10 for music that has been mastered properly, leave the eq flat. Once this step is completed then you have now set the main eq.
3. Repeat the same for monitors. Turn off the main volume and then bring up the monitor main volume to the desired level first, then set eq. Now your monitor eq is set properly. Remember or mark the position of the monitor volume.
4. Set up microphone - plug a mic into channel 1 with volume all the way down. Speak or sing into the microphone and adjust the GAIN until you see the clip light, then back down a litttle on the gain. Put the monitor and main volumes back up to the mark from step 2. Now adjust the volume and monitor send on the mic channel to the desired loudness first before adjusting the mic channel eq. Use subtractive eq method to minimize distortion and feedback. ...i.e. if the mic is bassy then turn down the lows, do not ADD highs. If the mic needs bass, turn down the highs.

How to clean volume pot on a rmx5050

Just spray a few shots but you have to take the top cover apart, then take out 3 philips screws in the pots module, take off caps and then you should be able to give'em a good cleaning spray shots.

The volume level from MY MM6 has suddenly dropped off. no idea why. Have checked all the cables and they are fine. Seems to be a decreased output from the board itself, but I don't know why. Help!

I had the same problem. This is how I fixed it:
1- Lay the MM6 upside down, remove the screws, open the back panel.
2- On your right side (the Volume PC board section), you will see component stand up (2 of them had 3 legs each, one of them is had more than 3 legs don't remember exactly) but 3 of them all had metal finish on their back. There are look like Power Transistor ( I do not have a schematic to be sure) but when these part get warm or hot (volume is only decrease when MM6 had been Turn-On for awhile), caused the volume to decreased.
3-Go to Radio Shack or other electronic stores, buy 3 HEAT SHRINK or you can make them your self (find- google to see what it look like, marterial...etc);
4- Use small screws and nuts, install these HEAT SHRINK into these 3 component then they will help these 3 components to stay cool all the time, therefore it will fixed the Volume decrease problem.
5- Yamaha should put HEAT SHRINK into these part when they designed.

I have NS-2 Noise Suppressor Pedal, this works fine but in some moment make a radio noise (hum) and the output signal comes down (like turns the volume to 0) ... I don't know what it is, I'm going to...

The probable problem is poor connections at the input and/or audio output jacks.

Usually the power supply will fail either on or off which is sometimes cause by a bad input power jack.

In any case, the problem is likely internal and will require repair.

Kinda dumb but my razorback has three knobs, tone treble and volume, although when i turn any one at a time all the way off the guitar is not silent. Is this normal?

It very well may be. Sometimes the volume is arranged so that it will not go clear down... Hey, it saves the manufacturer a lot of calls saying there is no volume by people who forget to turn the volume up.

My Line 6 Amp has a sort with the volume, the volume will be low and for no reason shoot up to about 8 or 9. how do I fix it?

Sounds Like You need a new volume pot you can buy them at radio shack, Best buy, Click Here to see it. Its very easy to replace if you have soldering experience if not it should be to expensive to fine somewhere to do it for you.
Hope this helps and if you have more questions let me know.

Epiphone Black Beauty controls don't seem to work properly

The volume is a common problem ... Search for wiring diagrams for your guitar to find a better wiring. Or take it to a guitar repair centre to have it fixed.

To tell which pickups are selected with the switch if it doesn't have the little plate telling you, Turn one volume down and flick the switch one way so you can hear just one pickup.

Two ways of telling which one it is picking up ... A toppy tone is the one nearest the bridge ... a bassy tone is the neck pickup ... The middle selection on the switch is both coils selected ... If you cant tell by tone ... Tap the pick up and you'll soon hear which one you have selected.
