ALl of the buttons on the outside are jammed...

Came home yesterday to find that none of the buttons by the water dispenser work. Can't switch between ice/water/crushed ice, and can't change the freezer or refrigerator temperatures. Two lights are on in the freezer temp range. Any way to reset?

How to change the light bulb in the outside ice/water dispenser

Question about Maytag 22.6 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator with PuriClean II Ice and Water
1 Answer
The light on the outside door (where the ice/water dispenser is) won't turn off. It is dimmer than when you hit the 'light' button, but it stays on constantly when the door is shut. The 'light' button works and turns the bulb brighter, but when you turn it off, it just dims and doesn't go out. The light shuts off when the door is open and turns back on when its closed. Reprogramming your refrigerator to only light up when the dispenser is in use saves energy and keepsyour house darker at night. The light is controlled using the buttons above the water dispenser mechanism.Press and hold the "Lock" or "Lock Controls" button for three seconds to activate the controls if they currently are locked.Tap the "Light" button to switch off the light.Press and hold the "Lock" button for another three seconds to lock the controls from further changes. The light now only comes on when the dispenser is active.
If the above procedure won't work then this will be the cause of a faulty switch. This light switch is an integrated part of the dispenser control circuit board. This will require you, or your service tech to replace the entire dispenser/ice maker control board. It will be located just behind the dispenser fascia, mounted on a bracket. the actual light switch circuit is mounted on this board.
Try this procedure:-
Shutdown the unit for five minutes. Simply unplug the unit for this length of time. This will reset the board, and possibly, fix this fault if it is not to severe. If the shutdown dose not correct the switch action, simply replace the dispenser/switch control circuit board.
Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept the solution.

My new refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser doesnt work

Since this is a brand new unit, I wouldn't waste the time or money troubleshooting it yourself; contact the place you purchased it from and exchange it.

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working
There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

Automatic icemaker stopped working yesterday. No problems before that. Arm is down, no problem with water line, (water still works in dispenser) temp is fine.

there are two solenoids that control water input. One foe the dispenser and one for the icemaker. Its called a double valve
and you have to replace both. even tho the dispenser is working.
Check ice tray for water if it has none pour it full and wait to see if it ejects after it freezes if it does then you probably need th double valve replaced if it don't then probably icemaker replacement

Hooked up water, which dispenses invariably, but ice won't dispen

Remove the ice bin , and behind it , on the rear wall ,use a screwdriver for leverage , between the dispensor " arms " , to see if the arms turn the motor fairly freely and not jammed . If it seems jammed , use a hair dryer aimed at the center of the arms to heat up the motor shaft to melt any ice possibly freezing it . No disassembly required .
If the arms turn fairly freely ( not jammed ) , then the main control board behind the refrig , is the problem .

The outside door water does not work

Can I assume the ice and water are activated by two different switches? The ice switch activates the motor that dispenses ice. The water switch activates a solenoid that opens to dispense water. If you can, find the solenoid and make sure it's not stuck closed (tapping it with a screwdriver handles usually help persuade it a bit). I would tap the solenoid while pushing the water button. Listen for the solenoid to activate. If you can't activate the solenoid, find the switch and depress it with a small screwdriver. Usually, these switches are just simple little microswitches that need a little cleaning and coaxing

My refrigerator is producing ice, but the filtered water out of the front suddenly stopped. It was working fine yesterday... Any solution?

Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws
disconnect the line to the water dispenser at the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in and try the dispenser. if you hear the valve work but water doesn't come out, the valve is bad. If you don't hear the valve, the dispenser switch is bad.

Side by Side Refrigerator ice/water dispenser computer problem

You either have a loose wire or you'll need a display board. The only other cheap thing that you can try is to unplug the unit and plug it back in. But if that doesn't work then it's one of two things. Are you sure that you don't have a extended warranty on this unit? Is this a GE unit?

No agua !

you would have to start with the water supply.
check if you have water coming to the fridge.

close the tap going to the fridge, open the line to the solenoids and open the tap. if there is water then supply is ok.

next check if there is power going to the water solenoid . ( this is different from ice maker solenoid) be sure to know which one.

press the dispenser, there should be power to the solenoid and solenoid should click open. if there is none, electrical problem is present.

last thing to check is the micro switch in the dispenser.

it should have contact when you press the dispenser.

tnx 4 using fixya,

My new refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser doesnt work

Its probably way too late, but ours was delivered / came with the water pipe being crushed at the front right at the bottom of the fridge/freezer. So I would check the full length of this small diameter pipe.
