MY 2001 ML 430 FM RADIO IS WORKING BUT VERY FAINT AM CD NAVI IS ALL FINE BUT WHEN I TURN TO FM ITS JUST NOT LOUD I TURN IT UP ALL THE WAY AND STILL VERY FAINT SOUND

Radios naturally come with am, so it will always work so long as there's power to the radio. Fm, however, is a built in receiver and if they break or start to break, then you will lose power to your fm which it sounds like is starting to happen to you.

My SonyICF-2010 works just fine when using the power adapter. However when I use battery power nothing happens. Please help. I love my old shortwave radio. Thanks.

This problem can be caused by a loose external power connector. This will require disassembly of the case and some soldering. it is possible that the battery terminals are corroded if any batteries have leaked.

Bose radio awrc1g only static like there is no antana. Works some times. CD works fine.

Hi,
Mine did the same thing. I took the cover off and took the radio apart. I discovered the FM/AM tuning crystal was separated from the mother board (soldering failed). Anyway, when figured out where the crystal went I reinserted it and it worked great. I considered gluing it back in but opted to test my soldering skills and it worked out just fine. The crystal is a small silver electrical component with 2 prongs that plug into the motherboard.

Good Luck.

I can't set the time, the alarm time, or do anything of that sort

AHAH! I had this problem also, so i tried google and it led me here. Luckily, I kept trying and figured it out so I will share my knowledge with you although you may have found it out already...
First, make sure the radio and ipod are off and it's in clock display mode.
Then, click and hold "alm set" while clicking the left "timer set" arrow to set the hour of your alarm and the right "timer set" arrow to set minutes for your alarm.
Then click "alm on/off" to turn it on and off.

This is a defect in the radio. Reportedly this issue was resolved in later vamps of production, but it still seemed to persist. We discontinued this model due to this exact reason. At this time there is no other solution and the factory can not tell us what the problem was and simply pointed to the LCD.

Remove the battery compartment door and the batteries. There should be a small hole marked "reset" under the upper battery cradle. Press (gently...until it clicks) and hold for 5 seconds. Replace batteries and try again.
