I have a CD-35... this works for me...

Hold the clock button down (just to the right of the LCD display) and press the channel up/down buttons (up does hours, down does minutes).

Go to Pioneer's website and look up your model number.
Yes, you need your model number.
You should be able to find a user's manual there.

Knowing newer Pioneer's, with the power off, press and hold the function button until a menu comes up, then press to advance to clock settings.

Nakamichi cd-35z

There is adjustment for bass, mid and treble. Access this by pressing the button to the right of the volume knob. I leave mine set at +1/2, -3, +2 . I also set LOUD on which is done by holding the same button down. With these settings everything sounds pretty spot on, occasionally need to adjust the bass up/down and treble dependant upon the CD.
