MP3 and Digital Media Players
Generic problem for all MP3 and Digital Media Players

Device not detected (by 7 users)

posted by nattydred123 on Nov 06, 2007

I have tried to load songs onto this today. I have loaded up the Media Studio but when I connect the USB cable across to the player it does nto detect a device at all, therfore I have been unable to put any music on it so far. And my USB port is not broken, and I know the computer responds to this because it asks me to syncronise the files to Media Player, before telling me nothing is detected.

Is there a reason for this? The insturction guide was quite small and rather unhelpful in explaining this in any real depth, so some advice would be much appreciated :)

I just bought a new mp3 player yesterday and when i connect it to my usb port it will charge but it wont reconnect to the computer even after it is fully charged. I checked all my usb ports and they all work properly. I've tried turning it on when i plug it in. I sent an email to the company and am still waiting to hear back from them.

OK I may be barking up a tall tree here. But, I had a samsung for about a day, then I went and got a sandisk. But, I seem to remember having some similar problems. I think I upgraded my windows media player, as well as I had to get some kind of media file or something like that from Microsoft. I just know that the first player I got did nothing. then the second player was the same deal, but someone told me to upgrade and when I went to microsoft, part of the upgrade included the file I am mentioning.
