Re: I cant figure this out

It is like as crash of psp system, If this is the first time you've used the Memory Stick Duo, you must format it with psp to create the proper PSP folder structure. Copy the music/audio files from your computer into the MUSIC folder inside the PSP folder on your Memory,

You can save and play music/audio on your PSP system in the following file formats:
MP3, MP4, ATRAC3plus, WAV, WMA. press triangle for Display or hide the control panel. you can visit for more helps. hope this helps.

How to put music on

Connect your PSP with your PC using the USB cable. Use your PSP interface then hit HOME button, and then go into "Settings". Here you will have to use
the directional button to find "USB Connection"

Once the connection is made, you will need to check your PCs available drives. You can do this by
going into "My Computer". Your PC should detect your PSP as and additional drive.
Click on your assigned PSP drive and Create a new folder call "my music" on your PSP drive
Select your MP3 music from your PC and drag it into your "my music" folder on your PSP. Note that all this is done in your PC interface.
When all the desired MP3 are transferred, get out of the USB connection by pressing "O" on
your PSP.

Find the music in your PSP, and select your memory stick. Search for your "my music" folder and
you are good to go.

If you have other types of music format in your PC, i.e. WMV or WMA, you will need a converter to
convert those files to MP3 format. You can easily convert WMA and WMV files format into MP3 format and just repeat the whole process.

Im having trouble putting music on my psp

Hi drew_haker,
Please be reminded that PSP is compatible with these Audio formats: MP3, AAC and WMA. If you have these file formats, putting music on your PSP will be so easy for you. Here are the procedures you can follow in transferring your music files:
1. Using USB cable connect your PSP to your computer.
2. On your PSP, press HOME button.
3. Then choose SETTINGS, afterwards USB CONNECTION.
4. Just wait until your computer tells you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:.
5. Now, double click on your MUSIC folder and just drag your music files from your PC going to the said folder. If you haven't created MUSIC folder just create one, to organize the files.
6. Once done copying your desired music tracks, press the "O" button to disconnect PSP from PC.
To play your music, just go to the music icon. Look for "Memory Stick" and you should be able to find all your favorite music!
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

We've lost PSP manual and need a new one.

Step 1. Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB leab.
Step 2. Goto settings on your PSP and select USB connection
Step 3. Look in "My computer" on your PC or laptop and your PSP will be listed as another drive.
Step 4. Double click the PSP drive (usually E:) and then right click on the window that opens and select "New Folder". Call this new folder "Music"
Step 5. Drag all your MP3 files into this new music folder you created.
Step 6. Press "O" on your PSP to exit USB connection.
Step 7. Select the music menu then scroll down to Memory stick. All your music should be in that folder.

Hope this helps

I up load it music 0n my psp,but ti says no tracks

You need to make sure the music your putting onto the PSP is in MP3 format. Other then that here is the steps to make sure your uploading the music properly:

To get everything working, plug the Sony PSP into the Windows PC via USB cable, plug the PSP into the wall, then turn both units on. On the PSP, click the "USB Connection" button (on the Settings menu) and, hopefully, your PC will beep and tell you that it's found a new "removable disk": your PSP.

Using Windows Explorer, find the new PSP device and if there isn't already a folder named MUSIC then create it and drop in MP3 format music files

Then at this point you should be able to access the music on your psp.

Cant download music

try NOT going through media player as it tries to convert any audio. keep your files as mp3. preferably stored in "My music" file on your computer. then when you connect your psp via USB go to "open folder to view files" then open psp/music file. leave it open and open a "My computer" window my documents/my music, then just click and drag to psp/music file.

  1. on the PSP go to settings -> USB connection
  2. Go to my computer, a new removeable drive should appear after a few seconds
  3. put music files in the MUSIC folder and videos in the VIDEO folder (or create them yourself if needed)
  4. go back to the menu on the psp, you should be able to watch/listen to the files you added

Note: The psp does not support all video and music file formats
so you may have to convert them if they wont run

You can also get programs like "psp video 9" which can automatically convert videos for you and put them in the correct folders.

Sony psp

1) Plug The USB Cable To Both The PC And PsP. 2) In The 1st Menu On Your PsP, Enable The USB Connection. 3) Go To My Computer, And You Will See A Folder Under Removable Storage, (For The PsP) Open That, Open The Folder PSP, and create a folder called "MUSIC" 4) Copy Your Music To That Folder. It Goes the same for a card reader aswell, because your PSP acts as a memory card reader. and you can also put movies in the video file but the video format must be mp4
