Hi the problem is E2 not E210 (although did go and have a look a the belt top right, took cover off head moves by hand etc) When turning on the copier XD155df there is no startup noise just an immediate E2 error. Cheers

Hello, Being an printer technician my self i am very much familiar with this problem than others. its a very common problem.the paper sensor inside the unit is stuck up .so even though there is no paper jam it detects that the paper is jammed up.i have cleared this problem many a times.initially tap the printer with bit force on all sides sometimes doing this will release the stuck up sensor.but if it doesnot then the printer needs to be opened and serviced and make the sensor free, also clean the sensor and its sides properly so it wont stuck up again n again.
thanks for using fixya.keep updated.

the sensor is located inside the printer .it is where the printer picks up paper and about to print.just there below the rollers once the paper is detected at the rollers it sends commands that the paper is received and the printing initializes and once it completes printing the paper passes off and the sensors picks up again indicating that the paper is passed of and cleared.but in your printer the sensor is stuck up below the rollers because of some dust maybe.
so its sensing the paper still there in the printer.call a tech and just tell him to service the printer and sensor area to solve the problem definately

    thanks
    for using fixya.keep updated.

Brian599 i am supposing that you have gone throught the "tip given by Eksa' if not let me remain u again that the E2 error is basically for paper jam only in case of xerox..i deal with it every day as i have my own photocopy house with 3 Xerox XD155df and 5 of other models.
let me remind you again the tips.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged pape
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. f necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly.
  7. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen te jam.
  8. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  9. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  10. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.see alternative if the problem is still not solved. But some time there can be error in the error messege which i think u have been facing lately now here is generally wat i do to solve the problem my self @ my work shop.which will help u in getting the right kind of Error code as u have check snd there is no way any paper jam issue.. please follow the following steps: DIAGNOSTICS:
To enter diagnostics: Turn on the power and within 4 seconds press the following sequence: 'Clear', 'Exposure Mode', 'Clear', 'Exposure Mode' (Exposure Mode is the button on the far left). The console will go completely blank.
To enter a code: Select the first part of the code using the copy quantity buttons, followed by the 'Print' button, then the second part of the code followed by the 'Print' button again.
To exit diagnostics: Press 'Clear' repeatedly or turn the power off.
*To clear a fuser code:(14) Enter diagnostics, select '14' followed by 'Print'... exit diagnostics.
**To Clear a U2 code:(16) Enter diagnostics, select '16' followed by 'Print' ... exit diagnostics.
and according to the error message go for the it. and also for solving error please hv a check on the link. www.partsdrop.com/pages/XD100inf.html i shall i surprise i this dont solve ur issue as i hv first hand experiance of the case. >> cheers!!

Hi there,
Error E210 is a problem with the lens position. When you turn the machine on, the lens moves to it's "home" position usually at the top of the glass. This error points to the fact that the lens failed to find the home position. Take a look under the glass. The lens is driven by a small belt at the top. The belt may be loose or broken. You can take it apart and replace the belt if that is indeed the issue. Hope this helps!

My Xerox Workcentre copier gives an error message E2 paper jam and I have cleared every possible jam. The copier still thinks its jammed and won't start up now.

I just had this same issue with my phaser3300MFP. Initially I thought this was a software issue but after careful inspection, there indeed was still a jam. I would check the fuser area of the machine. There is most likely a page jammed in that area and they can be hard to see.

E2 error code on Xerox work centre xd series 120f copier

e2 is a paper jam problem. check that the paper guides in the cassette are positioned aginst the paper properly. Also remove the toner and drum cartridge. Clean all rubber rollers that you can get to with a damp cloth ( water). You are especially trying to clean the upper and lower registration rollers that "pinch" the paper. I hope that this helps.

Most likely the paper feed rollers are slick and simply not feeding paper. You can google a business called "the parts drop". They have an excellent site and parts availability.

Paper folds and jams before

your description points to a fuser assembly problem which is right where you looked. I'm not sure what that plastic piece is from. if it is black, it probably came from the fuser. That is a replaceable part, but I'm not sure you can still purchase them from Xerox.

E2 Paper Jam code flashing .... but no paper jam!

There is a small sensor on the fuser that most likely has become disloged. It requires a lot of disassembly to get to.
But an E2 code is that sensor not being cleared off. It pops out of the frame sometimes during paper removal.
