The Light Engine is the problem and a major tear-down. It is not a customer replaceable part. Cost of the part is around 850.00 to 1000.00. then you got the labor cost on top of that. Unless Hitachi is willing to help with repairs I would not even consider spending the money. It never hurts though to call Hitachi and see what they would do to help.
