Overheating Bought a new bulb since the timer was out. Replaced the bulb and the projector worked great for one day. The next day it won't stay on for more than a minute before it shuts off with the overheating light coming on. Dell said it would be $235 for them to even take a look at it. The projector sounds like the fans are working. It is about a year old.

Reset the lamp timer.
1,Connect the power cord.
2,While simultaneously holding down "menu","enter" and "down" on the projector, press "standby/On" on the projector and keep all four buttons pressed down until the lamp indicator starts blinking green.
"LAMP 0000H" is displayed, indicating that the lamp timer is reset.

It seems you assume that it is not an overheating problem.
The problem is, the bulb gets really, really hot when using the projector. It doesn't matter whether it has been there without any usage. As you switch it on, it will start to get hot.
But the lamp or other parts of the projector should not get too hot. To control the temperature, air is moved through the projector with the help of fans. Air enters through air filters and move through the projector absorbing heat from hot parts. This prevents these parts from getting overheated.
But what if air doesn't flow freely? Then the parts CAN get overheated.
First, switch on the projector and check whether you can hear the fans working.
Next, switch off the projector and remove power cable.
After about 30 minutes, remove the cover and check whether the air filters are blocked. If they are, clean them with a small brush.
This would probably solve your problem.

the lamp units should be properly aligned with the 2 very tiny switches
between them. If not lamp led will blink.
If lamp led is continuously on, lamp timer has to be reset, according instructions that come with new units.
Original lamp modules are AH-45001 and AH-45002, two different
units needen for 1 projector, reset procedure is different for each lamp !!

Looks, like one of your temperature sensors has been damaged. May be due to severe overheating by old lamp. Or: the lamp could be improperly installed. Heats up, then connections to ballast fail, lamp quit working. Next possible cause: did you clean air filter? Vacuumed or blow fans with compressed air? Another possibility: If there was not a significant dust accumulation inside of lamp compartment, the ballast board itself can be at fault. In any case, unit might behave the way it does now. Also: have you reset the lamp timer? In projectors, they won't just give you annoying message via "on screen display". It might think, that you never replaced the lamp, just took it out and put back in. You must reset the lamp timer first. The procedure could be in owner's manual or come with OEM replacement lamp. Generics or "bare" lamps might lack that note. Panasonic wants to stay in a business!

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.

It sounds like it is overheating. Are the fans all working? If so, try opening the casing and blowing all the dust out with a can of air from Staples/Office Depot. If the fans aren't working you may need to replace them.

Next time this happens , just take out the main connection to the Mainboard and plug it back in.

Also remember to reset your lamp timer now that you have replaced the lamp !
