Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
Make sure the battery is out and your only using the ac adapter. If its still dies on you and your having to push the power button several times to get the machine back up and running that means the motherboard is bad.
In fact when your laptop turns off, check to see if you feel any part of the laptop that feels very hot or very warm to the touch, thats a sure fire way to know that the motherboard is bad as long as you can feel air then you know the fan is running.
If you only hook up the ac adapter and the machine runs fine then its a faulty battery.
