Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
I have some things for you to try.
PSP locked up.
Try Holding the R trigger and turn the power on at the same time. This puts you in a different mode. Press the display brightness button to see the version. Power off and back on again to see if that resets it. This is only a guess I would appreciate at least a thanks for trying.
All things are fixable. Try going into recovery mode. This is done by Pressing and holding the R button when powering up the PSP. You then can press the brightness control button to see the firmware. This might help you reboot the PSP. If it is worst than this, you may consider sending it back to Sony for repair, although they usually do not want to fix a Squished PSP. I would not tell them you Sat on it. You can call SONY support at 1-800-345-7669.
If you cannot get them to Repair it, you can check out my website, www.Playstationclinic.com. I can fix it for a very reasonable price.
PSP test the UMD drive
Press the little Black probe sticking up in the UMD drive. It is about 3/4 inch from left and 3/4 inch from top of the UMD drive. When you press it, look for the Disc spindle to rotate, and the Laser to light up and the Laser movement to occur. This will tell you a lot in what is working or not in the UMD drive.
If you have no success on any of these. You can get them repaired at www.Playstationclinic.com. The PSP UMD drive is quite delicate, and should be handled with care. Good luck
