Question about Zodiac Baracuda G3 Automatic In Ground Pool Cleaner
I have a zodiac baracuda ranger. I bought it last summer and it worked great. It has worked great this year too until recently. It looked like it stopped moving, but it was just going very slowly even though the hose was still "bouncing". Plus it is making a clacking rythimic noice now. And it used to look like the big round disc that lays flat on the pool would kind of move like a sting ray, and now it just sucks to the bottom. I appreciate any help you can offer. thanks

I haven't seen any bulletins on the Zippy hoses. You might adjust the flow to the cleaner. You can find the Manual for the zippy cleaner on this page beneith the diagram. It shows how the star control works. You can also contact the Mfg Technical Support at Phone: 800-822-7933 They might be able to warranty a hose or two for you.

check the diaphragm for debris, damage, or deformity. unthread the collar above the handle and push the tube downward. Inspect the rubber diaphragm, any damage or deformity will cause erratic behavior.

Probably not getting enough suction to hold it down on the bottom. Have you backwashed your filter ? Try that and see what happens

If you don't have directonal eyeballs on your jet's you can get a dirveter for the jet that will push the water down the wall rather than out into the pool. Get these at your local pool store. Baracuda and Kreepy Krawlie both make them.

If these pool cleaners are getting stuck on corners or other obstacles, try these solutions. Try using Pool Pulse to lower the flow. If you are getting too much flow, the cleaner will stay along the edges of the pool and in corners. You might also need to adjust hose weights. You can adjust your return flow lines in the pool. If they are directed toward the corners, try moving them down and center to direct the cleaner in the correct positions in the pool.
