You can only use oven cleaner on enameled hood not on the cast painted parts like the body and sides of the hood those you can scrape and vaccum or brush

I opened my weber grill after couple of months without usage and I'm seeing that it's covers from the inside with blue fungus (see attached image) How should I clean it? If at all

First thing is to turn on all the burners on high and close the lid, let it run for 20 minutes, that will kill any live growth in there. Turn off the burners, open the lid and let it cool you can use a wire brush to knock off any crud. After it's completely cool you can take a scrub brush and some cleaning agent. Once scrubbed down, rinse it out, and turn it on again to dry; 15 minutes should be enough. The reason it looks like it does now is because it wasn't cleaned before storage. I would not want to eat anything from that grill until it has been cleaned.

When I shut the lid of my weber q the outside ring burner fades out to one end then flames up into the lid. The flame is also very yellow. The Weber is 18 months old

Barry, from what you have described, it sounds like the Venturi Valve on the open end of the burner is clogged. Spiders like to build nest in them. The Venturi Valve mixes air to the gas, so that there is complete, clean combustion when the burner is ON. Removing and cleaning the burner should solve the problem.

Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa..

I have a natural gas hookup and my grill takes a long time to heaat up (15 minutes) and max degrees is 350 - 375. I found dust in the connection hose blew ut out. Also took grill apart and cleaned...

Unfortunately, that's the way it does on Natural Gas, in an outdoor environment. The reason being, Propane Gas burns cleaner and hotter than Natural Gas in an outdoor environment. Of course, on the plus side, you don't have to get tanks refilled. With that said, the thermometer on the grill may be faulty.

To test this theory, buy an inexpensive oven thermometer (the kind that can be placed on an oven rack) and place inside the grill, when you're preheating it with the lid closed. Once you grill thermometer reaches 350 degrees, open the grill hood and compare it the two temperature readings. If the oven thermometer is reading significantly higher, then you no the grill thermometer is faulty.

Hope this helps you get back up to temperature.

On the inside of the lid the paint or enamel coating is pealing off on to the food. Weber rep. said they don't paint the inside of the lid, and is probaly residue from cooking. But I used the word (paint)...

Most of the time what appears to be paint pealing, on the inside of your grill lid, is actually soot from your LP gas and bad combustion. May need someone to provide a thorough clean of your burners and check that your orifice sizes are correct and clean(holes on back of valves).   If you can, convert your grill to NG.. that will almost always solve a sooting issue(it burns much cleaner than LP)!  Hope this gives you some answers?
