1. Now to make your player region free use the Sony remote that came with the player to bring it out of standby and wait while HOME is displayed
2. Make sure there isn't a disc in the machine.
3. Now on the OneforAll remote press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (The blue 24p light on the player will start flashing)
4. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote
5. That’s it, the next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback

Every blue ray player can only play the region of disc that is from the same region as the player.

So A player from Malaysia can't play U.S. Discs as it only plays the region of discs that it was purchased from or any other supported region - said in the user manual / documentation.

So you can't play any blue ray discs in the usa that have a Region code protection and are set to the region of usa.

Its the same thing with DVD players, they also have this region protection.

"DVD region codes are a DRM technique designed to allow motion picture studios to control aspects of a release, including content, release date, and, especially, price, according to the region. DVD video discs may be encoded with a region code restricting the area of the world in which they can be played. The commercial DVD player specification requires that a player to be sold in a given place not play discs encoded for a different region."

read more here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code it talks about DVD's but its the same thing on Blue Ray.

It is not playing any dvd's. It says invalid or

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot if the BD player cannot read or play a disc:

1. Ensure the Easy Setup procedure has been completed on the BD player.

NOTE: Can't play DISC may display on the LCD screen if the Easy Setup procedure was not completed first.
2. Ensure the inserted disc is compatible with the BD player.

NOTE: Consult the instruction manual of the BD player for a list of compatible discs.Manuals are available online through the Manuals/Specs/Warranty link on this page.
3. Select BD players may require that a USB memory device has been properly inserted into the EXT slot of the player prior to playing the movie. If the BD player being used does not have an EXT input, skip this step.

NOTE: The USB memory device may need to be re-formatted to FAT32 format prior to inserting it into the player.
4. Use a soft cloth to clean the disc.
5. Examine the disc for any cracks or scratches that might be interfering with playback.
6. Attempt to play another disc.

NOTE: If another disc plays in the player, then the previous disc may be faulty. In this case, contact the Customer Information Service Center at 800-222-7669 to speak with a customer service representative for further troubleshooting.
7. Remove the disc from the BD player.
8. Turn off the BD player.
9. Unplug the power cord of the BD player from the electrical outlet.
10. Let the player remain without power for 1 minute.
11. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
12. Turn on the BD player.
13. Insert the disc into the BD player.
14. Attempt to play the disc.

If the issue is not resolved even after performing these steps, then try installing the latest Firmware update if you have not done yet.
Here is the link to download and install the Firmware update.
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=BDPS360
Select the correct Operating System and download the Firmware update.
Then follow the instruction on the same to install the update in the Player.
If the issue is not resolved even after installing the update, then Playe may require service.

Looking for code for LG BD 350- can anyone help!

Download this file unzip it to a folder on your hard drive: http://www.multi-region.net/_media/6000.zip

Burn the downloaded file RMTMOOOO AND ITS CONTENTS onto a CD disc. Make sure the disc is then finalized and closed

Load disc into the BD350. A screen appears asking to assign a number in a DVD and a Blu-ray fields; use the up/down arrow keys to place a "0" in both fields; the, press the "pause" key. This will render the BD350 region-free (for DVD's) and zone-free (for Blu-ray discs)

Bdp s350 sony bluray player.

I would just like to add that I have a Sony BDP-S500 player and a Sony TV.

The Sony TV's remote was preprogrammed to control the Bluray player, which i discovered by accident, so I didn't have to mess with universal remote control codes or anything.

Hope that helps.

Cannot play DVD's I burn at home on my PC.

I think I got your solution hurmanav8.  This model BR player will not play .avi files or many others.  You need to first convert to mpeg-2. Best program I have found for this is ConvertXtoDVD.

Incompatible Disc in Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-Ray Disc Player

I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.

Blue ray player wont play blue ray ''Kung Fu Panda'' disc.

i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.
