Problem with 2wire 2700HG-B Router (2700HGB)

Need to boost my wireless signal for remote laptop

2wire network works fine in main house. My mom lives in a mobile home adjacent to the main house (approx 100 ft from router). I tried a Hawking range extender....it works only intermittently and drops the line repeatedly.. Feel like I need a different configuration or different equipment to accomplish what I want. Mom frustrates easily and needs reasonably reliable internet access..

What are my other options ..... antennas, other range extenders???.... Would be willing to pay a network savvy tech to come onsite and setup, but don't know who to call. I live in extreme South Texas.....not a lot of high tech gurus here.

Thanks for your help....

It's almost a DIY deal, but how close are you to Corpus?

The unit you need is a Wireless access point. My favorite, fairly inexpensive, WAP is made by TP Link. http://www.tplink.com/products/product_des.asp?id=116

You can start with one, at ***********'s, add an external antenna, and set it up as a client pointing to your wireless internet connection. If that doesn't work, you duplicate the equipment set up as a wireless access point at your location.

Post back if you need purchasing help or are near Corpus.
