Hi

There are two ways of getting it to the point of like new.

1. Acer Recover Cd's or dvd.
2. Windows installation cd.

On option one you would need to get such discs, you could try contacting acer directly and ask for the discs, there are generally 3cds or more. Or you could look for someone selling them I already checked ebay and didn't find anyone selling them.

Here is a Acer Recovery Media Purchase program, give it a try
https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=acer

(if the link doesn't work try this instead: http://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=acer - if this doesn't work either, just select the whole link text http://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=acer ones highlighted(selected) right click on it and select copy, then go to your addressbar and paste)

option 2, you could use a windows installation cd to do the job, after which you would need to download the drivers from the acer website. Almost any pc repair shop will do it for you for a small fee.

If you are going with option 2 and you have a cd (windows xp installation cd or similiar) ask for instructions.

Thank you,
Ekse

    Hi

I tested the recovery media page with your SNID 72008743325 - it worked.

You are able to order the discs needed from acer.

let me know if you need anything else or if you have any trouble.
    Thanks,
    Ekse

As I said you can order the recovery cd's from acer From the link I gave you on the first message.

  • Ekse Jun 28, 2009

you can order the cd's that you need for your computer from this page - http://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx...

put the first cd in the drive - restart the computer and follow instructions. should come with documentation on how to use.

Got locked out of my laptop its asking for a password & i have never had one

The person who owned it before you has probably put a bios password in the computer locking you out. I strongly recommend you take it back to the pawn shop and get your money back, or the seller gets a hold of the customer to get the required information, because without it the laptop is useless to you.

Ok i bought a iphone from a pawn shop an do not know the itunes account password an cant get any updates help

Turn on the phone and Reset it back to default settings. You will then have to register with Itunes for your own account

- or -
Try and do some info gathering on the phone itself for leftover information and use the forgot password option.

HELLO I JUST BOUGHT A GARMIN NUVI 350 FROM A PAWN SHOP AND IT'S LOCK HOW DO I UNLOCK THE UNIT PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKS

Garmin Lock works by using either a 4 digit pin code or by taking the unit back to a preset security location. Although Garmin warn that this should NOT be the user's home address, that's what it normally is. If you know where the last owner lived then you can try going to that location to see if it unlocks, but if you knew that piece of information you could just ask the last owner...

It came from a pawn shop though, so it's very unlikely that you know who the last owner was or where he/she lived.

There is no other way to unlock your unit without sending the unit back to Garmin. There's a charge for the service and you'll be asked to provide evidence that you own the unit; in practice it's going to be cheaper to buy a similar brand new Garmin model. All I can suggest is that you try to get a refund from the pawn shop (unlikely!) or sell it to another unsuspecting person.

Sorry, but Garmin Lock is deliberately difficult to overcome otherwise it wouldn't be much use as an anti-theft deterrent.

Bought ipod from pawn shop

the Ipod once you hook it up to the computer becomes like an external hard drive. hook it up go into my computer look for what looks like a new drive then open it up. once you do that go to edit select all then go down to delete click on it. it should get rid of all the files that are there. to put new ones on the ipod find the songs that you want and drag and drop them in the ipod drive.
