If your with cable ISP you need to mac clone the mac address of the pc to the router.
1.make sure that everything is connected properly (modem to internet port of the router and pc to regular port)
2.access the router, http://192.168.1.1 (username: admin / password: password)
3.under basic settings page, scroll down to the bottom and look for router mac address and select Use Computer MAC Address and then hit apply
4.click the router status on the left pane and check if there's an IP under internet port, if yes it should be working and if not you need to power cycle the network
5. to power cycle, turn off the router and modem for 3 minutes and then turn on the modem first and then the router
5.it should work now

Solid yellow Internet light on D-Link DIR-825

Try a new working LAN cable between your internet modem and the router. Is your internet modem connected and working? You should be able to directly connect using a LAN cable to check the modem connection. Reboot your modem and router.

Modem light is blinking no internet light

hi, there are two ways to assit you on this issue.Either you can call belkin customer care which is a TOLL FREE no. on the product box and get assisted or else proceed with the following basic steps.
1. the product that you have is an obsolette.
2.Before troubleshooting the belkin product. Please connect your computer directly with the modem (without router)on the ethernet(lan) port and check for the solid lights on the modem after turning it on, after that check for internet connectivity, if you can go online, its fine else you need to contact your modem vendor and get fixed.
3. if u can go online, then connect your router isolated port to the modem amd your computer back to the router's lan port(port 1) and check for the solid internet, power, modem, lan lights on the router.
4. if all are solid lights , check you can go online else you can hold the reset button at the rear side of your router for 2 mins if you have a cable modem and then check for connectivity.
5. If you have a dsl connection , then better contact customer care, they assit you very well.

Speed touch modem problem.

On routers most of the time you can see 5 RJ45(LAN Cable) ports. Four will be close together and one is more apart. On this port you need to connect the modem. And on the other port the computer , no matter which one. Check for the lights in front of the router. One will be the WAN connection and needs to be green. Amber color is no good.

Linksys wirless G 2.4 broad band router download driver

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Network switch

Sounds like you know what you're doing... but.. based on what you've typed..

You need to make certain the comcast cable modem is plugged into the seperate port on the back of the router called WAN and not next to the other LAN connectors.

The network is seperate from the internet. The router acts as a firewall and shares the WAN with the LAN internally and automatically.

I assum that you have one red light on WAN.. and three green lights for LAN..

Setting up my wirless that a bought for christmas

When you connect your computer directly to your DSL modem with an ethernet cable are you still able to access the internet?

If so we need to see if your DSL modem is assigning IP addresses from the same subnet as your new router.

With your computer connected to your cable modem click Start and then Run (Windows XP) and type "cmd" (no quotes) in the box and hit the enter key. A black window should open. In the window type the following and hit enter "ipconfig /all" Please write down the following items:
1. Description
2. IP Address
3. Default Gateway

Once completed connect your computer to one of the 4 LAN ports on your router, restart your computer and run the same test again then write down the same 3 items.

Please post the information here when complete.
