My Casio fx-300ES calculator's output is in fraction form. How do I change the setting so that it gives me a normal decimal output without having to push the "eng" button

I had the same problem. To change the output to decimals, do the following:
Go to Math mode, then SHIFT, MODE (set-up), 2 (lineIO). This will cause answers to show in decimal format. I hope this helps.
I was able to find a manual at: http://www.generalmanual.com/Calculators/Casio-FX-300ES-Scientific-Financial-Calculator.htm
