Question about Kenmore 20.3 cu. ft. / 575 liter Upright Freezer 23024
Commercial refrigerators are required to be set to 23 % a home unti shold not be less than 27% and thats for food being frozen to last 6 months.

The temperature setting for the freezer has little to do with the ambient air temp. It has everything to do with how cold you want your things, and how much the door gets fanned.
The first thing I would do is to get the freezer out of a hot garage, into a cooler atmosphere. This is going to make your freezer last longer and more noticeably, lower your electric bill.

The control was designed to be set in the middle of its range no matter where its put it measures the temp inside freezers and friges alike are not made to be in an area above 85* the hoter it is the more they will run $$$ a fan blowing at it can help keep it from running so mutch putting it inside would be even a better idea
