Will not turn on and only displays time - Sony CDX M60UI Marine Receiver

Test that lights turn on when switch is in ON position. Then turn knob to "TIMER" and set both the time you want the lights to come on then the time for off. Leave knob at "TIMER".

TIMER - The power pack turns on when the clock reaches the TIMED ON time. The power pack will turn off when the clock reaches the TIMED OFF time.

This mode will turn the power pack on and off at the same times everyday regardless of how light or dark it is. The power pack and lights will be on from the TIME ON time to the TIMED OFF time. This type of radio has a button for setting the time. You can set the time by following these steps:
Turn the ignition key to ACC/ACCESSORY or ON/RUN. Press the knob, located in the center of the radio, to turn the radio on.
Press the button until the hour begins flashing on the display. Press the button a second time and the minute begins flashing on the display.
While either the hour or the minute numbers are flashing, turn the knob, located on the upper right side of the radio, clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the time.
Press the button again until the clock display stops flashing to set the currently displayed time; otherwise, the flashing stops after five seconds and the current time displayed is automatically set.
To change the time default setting from 12 hour to 24 hour, press the button and then the pushbutton located under the forward arrow label. Once the time 12H and 24H are displayed, press the pushbutton located under the desired option to select the default. Press the button again to apply the selected default, or let the screen time out.

With Date Display
Single CD (MP3) Player
This type of radio has a button for setting the time and date.
To set the time and date, follow these instructions:
Turn the ignition key to ACC/ACCESSORY or ON/RUN. Press the knob, located in the center of the radio, to turn the radio on.
Press the button and the HR, MIN, MM, DD, YYYY (hour, minute, month, day, and year) displays.
Press the pushbutton located under any one of the labels that you want to change. Every time the pushbutton is pressed again, the time or the date if selected, increases by one.
• Another way to increase the time or date, is to press the right SEEK arrow or FWD button.
• To decrease the time or date, press the left SEEK arrow or REV button, or turn the knob, located on the upper right side of the radio.
The date does not automatically display. To see the date press the button while the radio is on. The date with display times out after a few seconds and goes back to the normal radio and time display.

I was not aware you could turn off the display, maybe it is just a bad display and you need to replace the board??!!
Ive been repairing Microwaves for 37 years. i do not remember seeing one where you could just turn off the display.

Display light does not turn off in sigmatel t33i. When the phone is switched on, the display light turn's off, as the time setted in the settings. But after a incoming call or entering in multimedia, the display light does not turn off in the sigmatel fxd t33i..

Display Selector (DSP)

if clock display is ----Turn the ignition key to the second position. You have two buttons on the instrument panel. Push the button on the left until it displays "TEST".Push the button on the right until it displays "2" Turn the key off, then on. You should have some time indicated on the display. Gently twist the button on the right clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the time. When the correct time is displayed push in that same button to set it. Turn the key on/off to check the time stays correct.

Setting the Clock
1 Turn the Mode control until the clock icon is highlighted
with brackets .
2 Press the Mode control. The clock icon and time display will
flash.
3 Turn the Mode control to adjust the time.
4 Press the Mode control again to set the time. The display
reverts to its previous mode and the new time is set.
Note: The clock can display time in either 12 hour or 24 hour
format. To change the time display turn the mode control to
highlight the clock icon with brackets . Press and hold the mode
control for 5 seconds. The display will show “12H” or “24H”. Turn the
mode control to select the time format you want, then press the
control.

9. The time of day does not display on my electronic oven control. If I push the CLOCK pad on the control panel the time will display for a few seconds and then it goes blank again.

• On many ranges with electronic controls the time of day display can by turned off or on by holding the CLOCK keypad down for 15 seconds.
  Push and hold the CLOCK keypad. The time will appear for a few seconds, and then disappear and finally it will reappear and beep. Release the keypad and the time should continue to display. Follow this same procedure to turn the time display off.
