Question about XM Radio (XMP6000)

1 Answer

Limited channels I have a sportscaster radio with xm. I don't know if this is a problem with the radio or XM or what...but it seems I only get limited channels. When I try to flip through or use the remote to get a certain doesn't show that channel. It's like it skips channels. (Like, it goes from 34 to 112...or something like that.) I want to listen to other channels!!!

Re: limited channels

Go to the following link: and refresh the radio. If no net access, call 800-967-2346. Have the radio code handy. It may work.

2008 Hyundai Azera XM radio "not ready"

I had the same problem. My 2008 Hyundai Azera had 37,800 and my wife went over a speed bump the XM radio went off and displayed "Not Ready". I raised the hood, pulled the negative battery cable for about a minute, replaced it and fixed the problem. Only issue is, this happens every couple of days. I'll probably continue to do this till my xm subscription runs out then to heck with it.

"not ready" message on XM radio

Remove the Audio Fuse and then put it back in and the problem is solved. So frustrating that I had to find this solution on another site as both the dealer and XM had no idea how to fix it. Dealer tried to tell me it was a bad radio and I'd have to get a replacement from Hyundai.

I don'tknow how to use the satellite radio...

Got this off the crutchfiel web site.

Item #700XMSON1 $129.98 This XM Direct 2 package includes everything you need to add XM Satellite Radio to your compatible Sony receiver: an XM Mini-Tuner, a CNP2000UC universal adapter, and a Sony connector cable. The Mini-Tuner connects to the universal adapter, then you use the connector cable to hook up the adapter to your Sony receiver.
Use your home computer to program the universal adapter for your Sony receiver — you can reprogram this adapter to work with another brand in the future. Once connected, you'll be able to change channels and see programming information on your stereo's display. You can also use the included XM Mini-Tuner with your XM-ready home receiver or in another vehicle with a compatible dock.
A computer running Windows XP and Internet Explorer is required. The unit is not compatible with Windows Vista.
Note: A subscription to XM is also required — learn about XM's programming. Satellite radio service is available only within Canada and the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Portable reception may vary by location. If you have questions about the proposed XM/SIRIUS merger, read the XM Customer Promise. To view this file, you will need the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader.

XM Loading Problem for Volkswagen

I had the same issue. I called XM multiple time to have the signal resent. I told them I was receiving the preview channels and nothing else. I asked them multiple times if it could be hardware issue and they said no. I took it to the dealer and they ran a test ($98) and determined that the unit had failed. They didn't charge me for the $800 unit, but they did charge me $300 for the installation. Its working fine now.

Those measurements are a standard single DIN automotive radio.
You need to find a "XM ready" or "With XM controls" radio and install a separate XM receiver box. For example this would be the in dash deck: And this is the XM receiver:
I would suggest finding an in dash receiver that also does HD radio as well as XM.
