How do i clean the air conditioner

Can you afford to pay a technician to clean and repair it?

First make sure that the unit is leaning out and check the weep hole for dirt and clear or clean if needed.

Turn the air conditioner OFF and unplug it. NOTE: The air conditioner must be unplugged for the automatic filter clean timer to reset.

Clean the filter. See the Care and Cleaning section in your use&care manual. After cleaning, replace the filter and plug the air conditioner back in.

I use a spray nozzel on my water hose to clean out the oustide coil. You can go to a local Hvac parts store and get a cleaning gun and foam to clean the coil. I just use my water hose and sprayer with arm and hammer baking soda.

Have freon and compressor checked out, could also be bad capacitor

Hi there. Clean the condenser. (the outside cooling coil where hot air comes out.) Use compressed air. If no air, try a vacuum.

This is njormally an issue with oversizing but this should have manifested itself the 1st time you used it, unless you have relocated the unit. If you have reinstalled it in its original location and if you have cleaned the coils as required, then you have a low freon issue that only a professional should resolve.
Tip: If the ice is building up in 1 small area and not evenly across the complete evaporator coil, then you definitely are low on freon.
