Hello
Click HERE toget the manual. Go to figure 3.1 and clean the filter if necessary. Goto figure 3.8 and make sure pate E is clear. Make sure the part isslides up against when inserted downward is clear. Go to figure 3.11.The slotted holes in the recovery tank lid must be clear. Finally therecovery tank lid must fit snugly and air tight. I hope this works

Carpet cleaner suction not working blowing out air instead

The most common reason for lack of pick up is that the lid is not fully seated on the dirty water tank. Be sure to hook the two tabs on the front of the lid, and then snap the rear latch into place. Another reason is that the duct on the front of the dirty water tank is missing. The duct may have been removed to install the hose, and was not put back in place. It is a square plastic piece, about the size of a slice of sandwich bread, which slides into the front of the tank. A far less common reason for no pick-up is that the seal that the tank sits on has fallen off the motor cover suction tube. You will see a round tube on the bottom of the dirty water tank. This sits on top of a large rubber seal on the motor cover when the tank is in place. Be sure the seal has not fallen down into the hood.

Not picking up in tank

There are a few things to check. First make sure the front panel is installed (the square part that is removed for using the hose). Next make sure the lid has snapped in place. Next, remove the lower tank and look for the round tube for a rubber seal, should be on. I have found these to be the most common problems relating to your suction issue. Also verify that it actuallu is putting water down ( this is another issue).

Hoover carpet cleaner does not **** water it blows

push the little square thingy down on the very front of the bottom bucket, then put the lid on before you put it on the machine, then let the force of putting it together push the front thingy up when you put the bottom bucket on the machine as one assembly..... it makes the seal right somehow..... ....my wife about pulled her hair out before we figured it out the hard way...... I may get a reward tonight......

HOOVER SPINSCRUB WONT SUCK UP WATER...BLOWING AIR OUT

ITS THE DUCT PIECE ON THE FRONT OF THE DIRTY WATER TANK (DWT). ITS NOT LINED UP.
1. TAKE LID OFF OF DWT
2. SLIDE THE LITTLE SQUARE PIECE (5'X5'X1) (THE DUCT) ON THE FRONT OF THE DWT AS FAR UP AS POSSIBLE AND IF IT BENDS FORWARD FROM THE TOP, DO THAT TOO (SOME MODELS OPEN LIKE A DOOR TOP DOWN, OTHERS JUST SLIDE UP AND OUT COMPLETELY)
3. SLIDE THAT DUCT BACK DOWN AS FAR DOWN AND BACK AS IT WILL GO.
4. PUT THE LID BACK ON BY HINGING THE FRONT LATCHES ON AND THEN SNAPPING THE BACK SIDE DOWN.
5. CHECK TO SEE IF THAT DUCT PIECE ON THE FRONT IS LOOSE BY PUSHING ON IT AND SEEING IF IT MOVES UP AND DOWN.
IF IT IS, THE LID ISNT COMPLETELY ON, GO BACK TO STEP 4.
IF THE DUCT IS SNUG, CONGRATS YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST MADE YOUR STEAM VAC **** UP THE WATER AGAIN

Steam vac will not pick up dirty water

My Hoover Steamvac problem isn't with the bruches--it's with the suction. Dirty soapy water stays in the carpet instead of being returned to one of the holding tanks.
