I have a QEP 7" tile saw. When I plug it in and press the switch, it hums-blade does not spin. (Note: not ready to cut tile yet, so no water in the bottom) Does anyone have any ideas on what's wrong?

Sounds like a shorted motor,or a dead spot on the armature. Try rotating the blade manually with no power first, then plug it in to see if it starts up. Don't let it hum for more than a second at a time, or it's sure to burn up the motor our trip the breaker.

Where do you put the water?

Most wet saws have a water tray below the table area. The blade moves thru this tray and gets cooled and lubricated by the water

What direction for blade rotation

The top of the blade spins toward you, but maybe you are asking which way the blade should go? If this is a tile saw, the teeth are tiny bits of diamond and will work in either direction. If this is blade with visible teeth, as for cutting wood, the points of the teeth should be toward you on the top of the blade. Good luck.

The nut that holds the saw blade on is flat like a washer. I can't find a tool to remove it. i want to change the saw blade.

Some of those nuts had 2 holes in them and there is a special tool that fits in the holes and you turn the tool to unloosen it.

Have a QEP 24" bridge

blade might be to tight, loosen the nut that holds the blade,if that dont work, blades gotta be hitting something,if its a new blade measure it up to your old one to check size, make sure its a wet cutting blade, some continuous rim blades are made for hard material like granite,or dry cutting , good luck

The blade is wobleing when I try and cut. the nut is on tightly and there is no movement in the connection. I was just using it last night and it was fine. Should I get a new blade or is it the machine?

The first thing I would do is replace the blade. I may have warped due to either heat, stress or may just be defective. If placing a new blade on does not fix the problem then the lug may be out of whack which is extremely rare.

Where does the water go?

Generally you can take the top off and the water goes in the bottom just under the saw. As far as the level goes they usually have a fill hole that when filled up all the way it will start to run out. If not, just make sure the blade is in water for about an inch or two.
