Problem with ac window unit panel and remote will not work, pushed all bottons to work and just wont.Could it be the mother load panel?

Sounds like a control computer board problem. Some times unplugging and leaving it for about 30 seconds and plugging it back in can recover from the fault.

Non-tech old lady here. I have 5 remotes, one for each bedroom, & recent guests have been meddling with them & I don't have a clue what I should do. I want them on a/c, which symbol is that?

You can find the manual for your systems here. You can either print it out or look at it in the webpage. If you go to page 4, you should see a diagram of your remote control. You are looking for buttons 17 and 20. One has a little temperature picture with an arrow up and an arrow down, that will raise or lower your temperature. Button 20 is on the bottom right of your remote, which will change your mode (fan, AC, Auto, Heat, etc). Press 20 until you see an A on the display, which symbolizes "Auto" mode, then change the desired temperature with 17 until it's at the level you want.

If this isn't the proper manual for your system, could you please find the model number and post back with that? It makes it a little easier to find. The model number should be located on the unit itself somewhere, or possibly on the outside part of it.

Icing occurs when run for long terms. Cooling is minimal at that time

Icing happens if following things occur.

High humidity levels outside
The coils and/or cooling fins are dirty and need to be cleaned.
The air intake filter is dirty and needs to be removed & cleaned.
The unit remains in direct sunlight most of the day.

When icing occurs, turn the temperature control to a warmer setting. This will help the unit thaw. Depending on how badly it's frozen will determine how long it will take to thaw completely.

I hope this helps you troubleshoot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

My unit requires remote control to operate remote control is lost what 2 do

Whether you have a thru the window model or a potable AC, the same controls that are on the remote are on the face of the unit. To operate it without the remote, turn the unit OFF and unplug it. Wait 5 minutes, then plug it back in. Wait 3 minutes & turn the unit ON using the controls on the front of the unit.. The controls will have reverted back to the original factory settings and you can now use the front control panel to operate & set the controls as you like.

If you want to purchase a new hand held remote, contact Haier Product Support 1-877-337-3639.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Previous tenant left ac window unit Haier HWF05XC5, but took the remote. Can I manually turn on this ac unit? when turning the power button, only the fan turns on, I'm unable to switch to AC

According to the Model Number you listed, it's a Mechanically or Manually Controlled AC unit. There is no remote control for it.Please be certain the Model Number you listed is correct and get back to me.

If it's the correct model number and it's manually controlled. You should have 2 rocker switches. One is to turn the power ON & Off. The other is to set the Fan Speed either on Low or High. Then there is a dial, numbered 1 to 10 to set the cooling level. 1 is min cool and 10 is Max Cool.

If the controls on your unit match what I described above, it's a manually controlled unit. No remote.

I hope this helped you. Please advise. Thanks.

Haier HWR05XC5

I have 2 of these ACs one remote is missing and the other was dropped in water. You can use the AC. Plug the unit in and hold the on/off button down for about 20 sec.or until the unit comes on. The cooling unit will come on but you will not have any control on the temp or fan speed, but you will have cool air and not just the fan running.

Marantz Remote control model RC-18SR

Does the SOURCE ON\OFF button still work? If so, you can still use the remote to turn the receiver on and off by first pressing the AMP button (so that the remote window says AMP) and then pressing the SOURCE ON\OFF button.
