Question about Creative Labs Inspire 5300 Computer Speakers
I had won these speakers a few years back from Crative LAbs, and am strating to have problems with them, poping crackling sounds, randomly... the power led on the volume control also dims, turns on and off randomly as the sound is made!, I have tried resoldering almost everything, thinking it could be a cold solder joint, but no luck!, heard on here someone else with a 6300 or something model having the same problem! could it be the amp ICs or a voltage regulator? I checked the AC adapter with a meter and throws out about 19V!!! AC! is this ok? it says 12V? I opened it and it is only a BIG transformer, no voltage regulator!, must be inside the subwoofer!, but I don't know much about circuits, just basic electronics, please HELP!, they are great speakers, and I don't have the $$ to but new ones... for a LONG time!

Creative used to sell the replacement volume controls on there site but I guess they stopped selling them.
So what I would do is select your product at http://support.creative.com/
Then click on Contact Us
Next click on My problem is not listed
This will get you to email support. Send them an email stating that you need a replacement volume control and powersupply. They will ether refer you to Customer Service or to the RMA department to get a replacement.
Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Hi. Check your speaker system with a different audio device like iPod or any MP3 Player using the same jacks. If the speaker system gives out sounds then nothing is wrong with it... if no sounds come out, then you know what I mean...
Try to replace the speaker of your sub-woofer... maybe that can fix it!
