Question about Rv Motorhome Dual Co & Lp Gas Alarm Detector

1 Answer

We have a 2007 Palamino Yearling Model 4101 Pop-Up Camper and recently it was vandalized and the wires from the camper to my vehicle were cut and destroyed so we have to replace the vehicle end plug to the camper. The problem is we have four color colded wires coming out of the plug but six color coded wires coming out of the camper's wire harness. I have white to white, brown to brown, green to green, and yellow to yellow hooked up. There is also a red and blue wires with no place to go. We have only brake lights working and the left turn signal starts all other lights flashing. And that's all we have. Can you advise?

Is this a six way plug (six round holes)? If there are six wires coming from the trailer, then the color code should be as follows:

White - Ground
Brown - Tail Lights
Yellow - Left Turn
Red - Stop
Green - Right Turn
Blue - Auxiliary Circuit (Battery Charge, Electric Brakes, etc...)

If you open the plug up that was cut, it is labeled as to which goes where.
TM = Tail Lights
RT = Right Turn
LT = Left Turn
S = Stop
G = Ground
Center = Auxiliary

Any place that sells campers can advise you. I would disconnect the water supply line underneath the camper and open all faucets. This will drain the lines. Pour some antifreeze especially designed for this purpose in the toilet and in all sinks. Don't forget to flush the toilet and pour a little in the tank after you turn the water off. This will prevent the traps from freezing.

Pop up Camper will not raise up when cranked

The cable pulleys will be behind something in each corner of the camper , you will need to remove the wall somehow at the bottom corner , sometimes depending on the model it is easier to remove the outside panel and put the cable back on the pulley then put the outside panel back on , be prepared to damage it though as they can be very stubborn to remove but you can repair it later .

Pop-up camper lights all turn on when tow-vehicle lights are on

FIRST, make sure white wire of camper is grounded to the frame of tow-vehicle. Temporarily use a jumper-cable frame-to-frame. Then apply 12volts individually to each of the three circuits to the camper. Assuming a 4-wire flat connector -- brown wire is for marker lamps; yellow is left brake/turn; green is right brake/turn

When you say that you have power up to the camper, do you mean power through the pigtail/wiring harness with the tow vehicle connected?

The trailer harness wiring is the only way to power these exterior camper lights, i.e., through your vehicle. There are no fuses within the trailer for the exterior lights. These lights are only fused from the tow vehicle's fuse box. So either the connections in the trailer harness are open, or they're open at the tow vehicle connection.

Do the turn signals work on the tow vehicle? If yes, then the only other thing to check is the turn signal flasher in your tow vehicle. A heavy duty flasher is recommended.

From the trailer, yellow, white, brown, red, green, is connected to your vehicle backup, ground (frame), right turn signal, left turn signal, running lights, respectively.

The trailer's blue wire is for an electric brake connection to your vehicle.

The trailer's small black wire should connect to the vehicle's hot, 12V lead for the interior lights. The large black wire at the trailer hitch is for charging an RV battery on your trailer, if it's supplied with one. Of all of these wires, only the large, 12 gauge, black wire goes to the 25 amp converter, which is fused, for the inside lights of the camper.

I hope this helps.

Isuzu axiom pull camper

As I recall, your Axiom has a Tow Rating of 5000 pounds -- but check your Owner's Manual to be sure. I have several friends who tow with their Isuzus (using 1st and 2nd Gen model Troopers and Rodeos) and pull pop-up campers, high-profile campers, ATV trailers, etc... There's even even one guy who pulls his Trail Rig (another Isusu) to various off-road events on an 18-foot tandem axle steel frame trailer -- All of them do so without any problem whatsoever. The thing is, all of them use a Load Distributing Hitch System, such as this: http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/hidden-hitch-weight-distributing-hitch-systems.htm It makes a HUGE difference. Hope this helps.
