    9" PORT DVD IPOD PLAYER?

Okay - this is a pal dvd player, and its region 4.

this player can't play NTSC discs, also it can only play region 4 discs.

Picture format or display system (PAL, Secam, NTSC, etc.) is the set of technical specifications in which a monitor displays the video signal.

Unless you have a multisystem dvd player - you can only play the format its made for. This is not a multisystem player so you can only play pal discs.

Also the region, its set to region 4, and there is no documented way of getting past it for this player.
In theory its possible to get any dvd player to play any region, it requires modifications which will void the warranty.

So I don't see that you would be able to get this machine to play any region disc or ntsc. A work around would require you to decrypt each DVD to your computer and then convert it to pal format. After those are done and the region protection is removed and its in pal format, then you can burn that one movie into a new dvd disc and it will play on the dvd player.

Note that you would have to do it for every disc you want to play on this player.

here is a program that can decrypt the dvd and remove protections from it

then you would also need to convert it to pal, I haven't done that myself, here are some programs for it.

Are you in the US? Your TV system is NTSC. The player possibly plays NTSC and PAL(European system) discs on PAL TVs only. Try to find out from the user manual of the DVD player if you can change the output signal to NTSC. Now it is PAL even though you are playing NTSC discs.

How to turn a sony bdp-s790 dvd multi region

Buy two players. One from each region.
If you ave an NTSC TV only, you will also need a PAL to NTSC converter, if you want to play UK PAL DVD`s on US or Asian TV`s. But I think all Euro/UK TV`s are all both color signals (PAL & NTSC).

Will the dvp 311ok play ntsc dvd i am in australia and i am reg 4

As long as the NTSC DVDs are not region coded, and your TV is multi-standard (able to receive NTSC as well as PAL signals via A/V inputs or similar connections), the player should play NTSC just fine through it

I assume this is a PHILIPS player? If so, most PHILIPS DVD players support NTSC playback on PAL TV.

You are correct, Australia is region 4 for DVD standard. The only restriction would be region codes.

What is the country code for australia - lg dvd recorder

The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs.

Hope this information is useful to you.

Re: assistance

DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation on within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. This means that all DVD players sold in the U.S. are made to region 1 specifications. As a result, region 1 players can only play region 1 discs. That's right, the DVDs themselves are encoded for a specific region. On the back of each DVD package, you will a find a region number (1 thru 6).
The geographical regions are as follows:

REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Resevered for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
