Mountain Trails Air bed Repair Kit
The package contains no instructions. clean surface with alcohol and let dry completely. I left my air mattress with very low inflation.
I cut a patch that covered well on every side. Mine was a n inch split on a seam. I applied glue to the slit and surrounding area, also to the entire patch. I waited about 30 seconds, just enough to reduce the fluid pressure, and met the surfaces, smoothing them out. I put some air in after a couple hours, the next day inflated as usual. so far, so good.
Finding the source of a leak in your waterbed may not always
be easy. Some punctures can be very
small (some even the size of a pin), making it difficult to find. The best place to start is by wiping the
entire mattress dry. Before going any
further, make sure that your heater is unplugged. First try to locate the leak without draining
the bed. Place paper towels around the
perimeter of your bed as well as around the corners and bottom seams. Then lay on your bed for a minute or two to
apply some pressure. Check the paper you
laid down to help diagnose the location of the leak. If this method does not work, you may have to
drain your mattress. Refill the mattress
with air and sit on it. Using a spray
bottle filled with water and dish soap spray the suspected areas. You will see bubbles appear in the area where
the hole is located.
Once you have located the location of the leak, you can now
repair it. You will need a vinyl repair
kit - most waterbed mattresses are sold with one, if not I will leave you a
link so that you can purchase one online.
For a small pin-size hole, you will only need a very small patch. Try to cut either a round/oval shaped patch
as corners usually lift. Apply some
adhesive to both the patch and the mattress and attach. You should let the patch dry for a minimum of
two hours before putting any pressure on it.
