Re: magic mill DLX 2000 base sent to repair place

I just found my old invoice where I had sent my DLX to be repaired a few years ago. (I had not put in enough moisture and it walked off the (rickety) table I had set it on...)

I need to send it back again and hence my search for the info.
The gentleman I sent it to was Mordechai Roth at Magic Mill Corp in Monsey, NY (10952) This occurred back in 2000, I can't believe I saved the receipt...

Phone number is 914-368-2532 (If it's still good) I am calling tomorrow to see about sending mine in... Hope you find yours...

My Kitchenaid '09 12C has light on, but no action. All parts click into place appropriately. No reset on base.

If nothing is working then it is your control switch. Pretty easy to replace and get. Cant remember the site name but if you put in your Kitchenaid model name and serial number it will pull up the site for replacement parts.

My kitchen aid mixer model k45 will only operate at high speed.

Hi REINO66, I suspect you (speed) Control Plate Assembly has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
The good news is that this can be fixed quite easily (OK, maybe with a little effort) by yourself if you are a DITY type person, feel adventurous, and your mixer is not under warranty. However, before you start to disassemble your mixer, be sure you have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version from the KA website:
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case use K45SSW, and select the file listed under Parts List (1), K45SSWH0.pdf (341.41 KB). Check to ensure it matches your mixer model.
Turn to pages 6 & 7, titled: Motor And Control Parts, which provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer’s electrical components, along with all the parts. Find Illus. No. 25, Control Plate Assembly, Part No. 240904-2, which is the part that needs to be replaced.
As far as parts go, here are four potential vendors in no particular order:;;; Prices for the same part can vary widely between vendors, so do your comparison shopping.
Here are some links to several excellent websites that detail the disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer.
Between these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your Parts List manual, you should now be able replace your Control Plate Assembly.
Good luck and have fun. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

We just got a 6 quart kitchenaid mixer, we have used it once and the loud high pitched sound is very irritating. Is this a problem that will go away in a short time, or do we send it back for repairs? Our...

Hi Wayne. If you want to keep the mixer, you'll have to buy some earplugs. Newer Kitchenaid mixers are all that noisy. The best thing that I can say about them, is that they've got great paint jobs. If you do keep the mixer, other revelations may occur later when the plastic transmission housing fails and possibly ruins your mixer. These units are poorly manufactured in my opinion. I know because I've been through my own Kitchenaid mixer rebuild. I recommend that you return it and consider an Electrolux DLX. My own solution was to buy a used commercial Hobart mixer and rebuild it. I am once again a happy man!

Good luck! ricardok45

its possible that you got a lemon off the factory line or they forgot to put grease into the transmission there a warranty on it?if so take it back.i work for hobart which sold kitchen aid some years ago,if that mixer is less than a year old as stated, take it back or verbally speak to a kitchen aid rep. and tell them your situation.i really belive you should be able to get a replacement as long as you havent overloaded the unit or caused damage.let me know.
