Question about Microwave Ovens
If the venting is to the outside - the air will not come back and recirculate at all.
When you install the microwave - you actually MUST remove the fan assembly and rotate it - essentially blanking off the interior vent.
To check for SURE - simply drop the microwave. It is held in place with 2 bolts in the top cabinet.
Take 1 bolt all the way out... then re - install it 3-4 turns.
Then back out the other one until the front of the microwave tilts down far enough to see the vent at the back.
If you see a hole there - the venting is to the outside.
If there is a silver metal cover - the venting is inside.
SEE THIS DIAGRAM - #18 is the blanking plate of your unit.
One less intrusive way to check the vent while cooking. Go outside and feel for heat, air flow, or moisure while heating or venting from the stove.
